The Peugeot 305 thread. Mine awakes after two decades!

I know we all like a one owner from new car. Especially with every mot to document the mileage.

Not being on the road for 20 years is interesting too.

Barn find? Not quite. This has spent the last 20 years parked outside in the grass. For the last 13 years it had had a 305 van on its roof, although I somehow lost the photo of that.

The engine is free and I will try to start it on Monday as I refuse to drive anywhere further than the yard on a bank holiday.

Sadly though I bought this to break up as the spares are worth good money due to their rarity. I paid more than you would think for this, certainly far more than I would dare to advertise one on here for.

Anyway, have some porn...

This was the van that was on its roofpost-19511-0-86690300-1495710387_thumb.jpg

Spot the autoshiter in the pic ( not me )

Anyway, thought this may be of interest, personally I find stuff like this far more interesting than shiny shite. An antidote to that Manchester thread maybe....

Oh and I am in negotiations to buy this van too...post-19511-0-43562200-1495710992_thumb.jpg

He says he doesn't want to sell it it is full of stuff but he will break at some point. There is a treasure trove of old cars there including an SD1 vitesse which he will actually sell for £1500. Doesn't sound expensive to me, it is dry stored. Anybody interested in that can pm me and I'll put you in touch

Parts from the yellow van are already helping other 305s live on.

A crying shame, but bits like that are invaluable, and it's better than the whole lot being chucked in the baler. Good work.

Yes in a way. The van was rotten but the estate isn't too bad underneath considering how long it has been there. The roof is dented and rotten so that is the main issue,as is the mangled rear quarter. I could repair it and would if it were worth more but its definitely more viable as a breaker.

Most of these were scrapped years ago so ironically, parking this up then neglecting for 20 years will help 305 enthusiasts

He's also got 2 mk2 1600Es, a mk2 cortina and shit loads of shite International tractors.

There has been much emotion over on FB regarding a company literally tearing Sierra's apart for spares when - frankly - there was no need at all.  Just financial greed.

However, with the 305's it's more than justified.  We're way past the 'point of no return' with spares - and everything should be done to preserve the cars currently going.  So - good for you.

No the bits aren't worth that much really but almost everything will sell apart from glass ( unless I go round to puddlethumper and dugongcorporation at night and smash their windows )

When you add it all up, it doesnt make the knob van look too expensive, it would break for not too far off that...

This is what shite collection/preservation is all about! Top marks on the paramedic overall, very apt.

I am amazed there is a market for spares as there certainly isn't for 304 stuff. I bought this one for its wheels

It was actually quite sound but the rear end damage and the fact that even mint they are worth bugger all has meant I have broken it for bits.

The remains are going scrap next week and in the last month I have only had 1 enquiry for bits.

I so want a 305.  Sadly, most of them seem to be dead :(

Blimeee Foad, I presume they are all in the land of Jockness. Bit of a trek if I need anything. I've never seen one in a scrapyard or field in Engiland.

That brown van is a wonderful shade of shite.

A can of diesel plumbed directly to the pump, a quick tow with a chain and a shogun and after 20 years it runs fine.

The previous owner removed the radiator but bypassed it to keep the coolant inpost-19511-0-99526500-1496610086_thumb.jpg

Bodged another rad on it the left it running for ages to test it. Dodgy junior giving it some beanspost-19511-0-99583200-1496610208_thumb.jpg

Anyway, its stripped and gone now. Caved in roof was me playing with the winch and trying to impress the kids. It workedpost-19511-0-88266200-1496610315_thumb.jpg

Another one gone
