Bren Posted February 26, 2017 Author Posted February 26, 2017 The actuator moves but is stiff without the hose disconnected.
SiC Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 That acutator looks electronically controlled. If it is, I don't know if I would want to manually move it.
Bren Posted February 26, 2017 Author Posted February 26, 2017 I moved it a few times - after switching off the ignition the actuator moved outward.
Noel Tidybeard Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 you prolly need to uhhook rod off actuator and see how well it moves- it should be reasonably free
Bren Posted February 26, 2017 Author Posted February 26, 2017 As it appears to be electronic I am reluctant to disconnect it in case I make myself more grief.
Bren Posted February 27, 2017 Author Posted February 27, 2017 Mr muscle procured. Downpipe detached from turbo. I have jury rigged a dispenser to the can of cleaner of truly heath robinson proportions. However I have run out of daylight so pics tomorrow. The Moog, SiC and Rusty_Rocket 3
Bren Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 Removed exhaust. Pumped in oven cleaner. Reassemble and let tick over. Took car for a run - up to 4000 rpm and could not get spanner to illuminate. I even took a picture - oldcars, SiC, DeeJay and 3 others 6
red5 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Lol. Actuators can play up on these. Which you may have accidentally cured. Same as Turbo vanes. Misfire can be sign of hp pump failing, which is a pig.

Bren Posted March 5, 2017 Author Posted March 5, 2017 On a run to the caravan the light came back on. Tomorrow I will scan the codes with op com and check to see how dirty the boost sensor is - I googled cleaning these - surprising how dirty they get on a diesel.
Bren Posted March 15, 2017 Author Posted March 15, 2017 Update. My op com showed PO235 - Negative boost. The boost sensor was filthy so I cleaned it and cleared the codes. 200 miles later no spanner light and car runs beautifully. I checked the car for codes - no dtc's saved. Hopefully I have cured it - the op com has already paid for itself. Rusty_Rocket, Dirk Diggler, Dave_Q and 4 others 7
Rusty_Rocket Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Sounds good Bren. The opcom really is worth its weigh in gold, can program keys etc too.
SiC Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Not sure I'd trust a clone, especially the recent ones, to program keys. They work but can be flaky at times. You really don't want it loosing communication half way through the key programming process!
