Just pondering something.

Anyone know of such a company that offers said insurance cover at non-heart attack inducing rates (obv individual circumstances will differ).

Thanks

Aviva is good. Watch out for the others. They often have minimum car values - which would apply to us often!

This is good to know, I feel an unnecessary but essential collection mission coming on

See if your current insurer will give you 'get you home' cover on your new car, I found out (after the fact) that AA insurance do offer this.

My current insurer couldn't/wouldn't even quote me on my lovely former Space Runner. Twunts.

I just get a normal cover then cancel it.

Never been charged more than £25 for two weeks cover

14 days cooling off is the new approved manoeuvre, shop for a full year based on admin fee as well as overall price.

Pay for the year by credit card etc, monthly policies are another level of arse because they're often done by shitehawk 3rd party finance companies with their own fees.

Basically, distance selling regs give you 14 days to cancel, call on day 13 and they're only allowed to charge you for the cover used (ie 1/26th of a years policy) plus an admin fee if stated in their t&c.

Yep.

I used Diamond 4 times last year and never had any hassle
