BavarianRetro Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 You seem to have done well with the climate. Brilliant weather yesterday and today in Co. Wicklow. Spotted - no photos unfortunately, but I'll remedy that:- E30 in Woodenbridge - may be parked up;Ponton Mercedes in car park of Wicklow Heather restaurant (recommended) in Laragh;White Stag on Laragh to Rathdrum road. Dirk Diggler Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 The motorways that have been constructed here in the last 15 years have done what the motorways that were constructed in Britain in the 50s and 60s did there; when towns and routes get bypassed their raison d'être disappears Some towns find a new identity, take Gorey for example. Some towns die, take many in your photos for example Lovely pictures Junkman 1
Junkman Posted May 26, 2017 Author Posted May 26, 2017 The last update before home. I happened upon a town that isn't depopulated. However, whenever there is more than one car on Ireland's roads, they manage to cause a congestion. So my climate improvement slightly backfired: Dirk Diggler, Conrad D. BavarianRetro Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 There were a load of minis on the boat and the M1 as far as Dublin yesterday. Must be something on.
Felly Magic Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 Yup there is a Mini show on, the lads from Project Binky aka Bad Obsession Motorsport are going to be there, sadly minus Binky
DeeJay Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 I shall return to the Emerald Island the week from 5th June, proudly improving the Irish climate with the Beastestate. I hope it's open. Dirk Diggler, Junkman and Disco Fever 3
Junkman Posted May 27, 2017 Author Posted May 27, 2017 Today, it was time to say good bye to the venerable blue Rover. It was abandoned at Lake View, so its past and future owner can collect it at his leisure. It was a good car. danthecapriman, The Reverend Bluejeans, Brodders and 3 others 6
Brodders Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 That is a top shelf, 5 star, potential calender shot right there. Although it is the end of the road for owning that one, do you reckon you will return to P6 ownership in the future, after all the work is done on the Granada? Or are you going to focus all your attention on keeping the Granada in perfect condition instead of having a larger fleet? Junkman 1
Junkman Posted May 28, 2017 Author Posted May 28, 2017 To be honest, I don't know. I went through potentially every aspect P6 ownership implies, including persevering with one that was without the trace of a doubt possessed by an evil spirit. The prospect of owning one of the last remaining Granadas is certainly an appealing one and the one I own will be brought to top notch. P6 tinkering is something I would like to leave to other people for the time being. I have done my deed. Shep Shepherd, danthecapriman, richardthestag and 1 other 4
SiC Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 I love the pictures in this thread and possibly one of the best threads of this year imo. Dirk Diggler, Conrad D. Conelrad, Brodders and 1 other 4
Dirk Diggler Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 I have to second somebody's recommendation above for my local restaurant, The Wicklow Heather; inexpensive relatively and open every day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. I know Wicklow very well; and could only recommend 5 restaurants in the whole county; an awful lot of overpriced shit food in most places Junkman, you went home Friday and it's now pissed rain for two days; come back soon Junkman 1
Dirk Diggler Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 White Stag on Laragh to Rathdrum road.Somebody just told me that that Stag belongs to Ciaran Brennan from the band Clannad; he lives near Clara Vale along that road. Clara Vale, down the hill by the church is another great photo op
Junkman Posted May 28, 2017 Author Posted May 28, 2017 I shall return with the Beastestate for some sophisticated surroundings spoilage and climate improverisation. Dirk Diggler 1
Eddie Honda Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 I shall return to the Emerald Island the week from 5th June, proudly improving the Irish climate with the Beastestate.Mon 5th is a bank holiday over here. Not that it makes any difference in my line of work.
danthecapriman Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 Beastestate was exceptional at climate improvement when I had it. Since it left me it's barely stopped raining here! Junkman 1
Eddie Honda Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 IMG_20170423_115622.jpg Had to take a picture; looks good, on a four digit ZV reg so been here a while The guy selling it has had many many p6s over my lifetime; often has interesting things for sale in this ditch Last night I had a minute to pass and picked up a copy of Monday's Indo that was to hand. Quickly flicked through and saw this: I'd say it's the same car, but no ZV reg.
