You've straightened up the rear number plate, you heathen! Best bit. I'm out.

;-)

Joking apart, I reckon that's a bit of a mingebag motoring bargain.

Who ever doesnt buy that is a fool.

Indeed. M111 engine, old skool Merc auto, inconsequential cosmetic rust and a bloody useful car.

Ya know what. I missed out ona cheap one of these when my E280 got smashed into. I really want to go for this, but I simply can't right now. :(

Good luck with sale, I really like these C-Klasses.

Is the round headlight version just a facelift of these?

If so, they're superb. There's less to go wrong in the more basic versions.

Would you swAp for a Nippa lolza.

(Sorry was thinking of the E class, this is C Class)

Reading this thread was a joy. I honestly think that is a dead straight old Merc from the pics. If someone could be bothered a bit of rubbing down in strategic places, rattle can of correct paint, tidy up the engine bay and a trip to the local scrappy to get all the missing pieces of trim and it would look perfectly Ok-ish. The value would probably shoot up to £250!

Also one thing which people rarely do, but should, buy a fresh set of number plates. Rotten acrylic number plates ruin so many otherwise clean looking cars. It's my pet peeve. I always buy a new set for £15 off Amazon when I get a car, it's worth it. I just bought a set of fancy pressed metal plate for my latest car, a C1, they look quite nice. Anyway love the Merc, I would prefer a diesel though.

If I didn't have something lined up I'd be on this like a tramp on hot chips

Ha! Actually it still regularly pops down still!

My wife has suddenly taken an interest in this after I mentioned trying to sell it. After I explained to her about the flurry* of PM correspondence I've had it's been decided it will be kept and used on our next German trip. I just need to tidy up the surface grot, and find a Kraftwerk cd and we will be all set!
