Best place to sell a LHD vehicle?

I have a lhd ford fiesta which I will be selling in possibly a month or so. Anyone know the best place to sell it and also do lhd cars go for more money than rhd in the UK as they are rarer?

I've looked all over the internet trying to find one to compare it to but found nothing.

I did see a website for a lhd only car dealer in the UK and thought the prices were quite high considering the vehicles they had were quite old high miles.

Advertise it on here with all the details inc. pictures and location.

Some years back you struggled to get shot of them, I bought an early 245 Volvo for that reason. They used to carry an insurance loading but perhaps they are now worth a little more as there are more folk used to driving them in the country they have come from.

More information, like how much?  LHD vehicles are desired by those from the UK who have a derelict shed /are going/live in the EU countries (Hi!  that is me).   When cars are personally exported to some countries it is not possible to register a RHD vehicle so someone working in the UK but going to visit family and leave them a "present" will need a LHD Fiesta.   The main places are  Ebey and Dumtree but loads of "travel and living abroad"   sites take ads.

I would've thought somewhere like Spain or France maybe or Germany if it's an Audi/bmw/merc or VW.

I personally wouldn't try places like Hong Kong or Cyprus as the drive on our side.

America might be a good bet if it's an old M.G or triumph.

I believe that second hand cars in France are more expensive than the UK so do a bit of research on Leboncoin and if I am right it would be worth selling it over there.

A few years ago I thought that a motor trader mate of mine was bonkers buying in a LHD car but he sold it within a week for a good profit to someone who was moving out to Spain. He was very good at what he did.

I could be interested if it's newish.  My old man is abroad and has asked me to keep a look out for something lhd for him as there's not much of a secondhand market where he lives.  Budget is up to £5k.

As you've found out the lhd 'specialists' seem to want over the odds for any old shite, but I bet they wouldn't offer you above-book for a trade in.

For anyone interested its a 2003 ghia model so has all the extras - air con, alloys, front fogs etc. Has the 1.4 tdci engine so £30 a year road tax and fuel economy is advertised as 50-70mpg.

Iirc has about 155,000 kilometres on the clock which I guess Is just under 100k miles.

The previous owner bought it in Ireland about 4 or 5 years ago and had it registered in uk. Seems likes its been looked after well, has Michelin tyres all round, 2 fairly new. Cambelt and water pump done last year.

Mot done about 3 months ago with no advisories.

At the moment it needs a rear wheel bearing and the battery needs charging/possibly replacing. Apart from that I don't think there's much wrong with it. Previous owner was an acquaintance of mine who bought a newer car and couldn't be arsed to fix it and sell it so I offered to buy it off him as it is.

I plan on changing the wheel bearing and checking/ charging the battery within the next few weeks when I have time

Stick it on Gumtree at a much inflated price, make sure it is obvious from the title and pictures that the steering wheel is on the wrong side.

A disposable phone number is always a good start when dealing with gumtree

A 13-yr old Festa isn't worth fannying about with, just chuck it on Gumtree saying LEFT HAND DRIVE in big letters and see where you get to.

The best place to advertise a left hand drive car is in the same place as a right hooker. Type 'Left hand drive' into eBay and 1500 motors pop up. If you don't know what it's worth, advertise it as a classified for £200 above what a RHD is worth and roll it back if there are no enquiries.

A similar rhd model goes for around £600 - £800 on auto trader and the like. I would say id be happy to let someone on here have it for £500 once I fixed the wheel bearing and sorted the battery.

Cambelt and pump done June 2016 at 150,000kms. I think the car has around 155k atm but cant remember for sure and its currently parked on a relatives drive so cant check exact mileage until i go there next
