What's best for restoring headlights? I have an attachment to fit in a drill and a supply of autosol and t cut.

What is best?

Take that drill and employ it in the fitment of buckets to receive a pair of round 7" Lucas type lamps. No further restoration or even maintenance required save the odd wipe of a damp rag.

I've found cheap toothpaste like YouTube video show works well.

Mask off the wings and wear old clothes and then splodge autosol on and start buffing with the drill & pad thing. Do it for 30 seconds then splodge a bit more autosol on. after five minutes wipe with a wet rag and see what its like underneath - should come up really well.

If you can be bothered a thorough wipe down with a wet rag afterwards followed by buffing with a soft cloth or lambswool pad will make it look just like new - or at least did on the Yaris.

autosol speckles will cover everything within about 5 metres so you'll need to wash the car, house, yourself, neighbourhood cats - the whole sodding lot - afterwards. but it is worth it.

I find Silvo metal polish very succesful, much better than tcut and much better than Brasso.

I read somewhere that a good and quick method is to soak a lint free cloth in 2k thinners then wipe the lens of the headlight once, don't go back over the light until the plastic has set/dried again. Never tried it so could be bollox.
