Garstang autojumble

9th Oct. (Sunday). Is it worth going to? I remember the last one I went to years ago was mainly motorbike stuff and it seemed to be populated largely by unsavoury, scowling middle-aged men.

That must have been one I was at then....  I've stood at this one a couple of times, long ago, but as you say, it seems to be much more bike-oriented than car.  Disappointing.

Bloody'ell is that still going?

I used to go to this one regularly, but it must be getting on for 15 years since I last went. I thought it was pretty good actually and always came away with a few bits and bobs. Dont remember it being particularly 'bikeish' but maybe times have changed. I remember there being the back half of a Checker cab lying there for ages and one year someone turned up with Clay Regazzonis 1975 F1 Ferrari, which seemed a bit out of place amongst all the old tools and Vauxhall Cresta panels.

Go for me....and tell us what it was like afterwards :)

It does not appear to have changed a lot apart from said men meanwhile being old crocks:

But then again, I've never been to an autojumble that was different.

Lots of people selling stuff - you can't haggle, if you do they just say "Nah - I'd rather take it home."

See you next year then.

If the weather forecast is good and I can be arsed to get out of bed I may well go.

Went to Newark auto jumble earlier in the year. Full of bike shit and scowling middle aged men. And got sunburned for the first time in about 10 years.

Good McDonald's breakfast en route though

Overall - neutral

The full delegation of the GGG once went to Newark.

It was so shit, that even I didn't buy a part for a car I don't own, which has never happened before at any autojumble.

Of Garstang I've only ever heard that it's good for bike parts, but for those, it's allegedly really good.

Not that much bike shit that ticked my fancy this time.

Only one 50cc at any rate.

I was none of those things at the time.  Opinions may vary...

You get that mentality at car boots. 'I'll get up at 5am every Sunday to get that £5 for those 'days gone by' models'
