I know this is not a very good subject for people & i am in no way endorsing joyriding, but check out some of the old (new/new'ish back then) cars. It is not easy viewing, especially the 3 door sierra cosworth    Also, check out the rover 825? police car handling....heavy body roll.....i am surprised it didn't roll over.

I've got this as part of a DVD set sent to me from a shiter. Yep, the Police car is a Rover 827 Fastback, once very popular in the police force. When I had my 827 Sterling I had a few older coppers now and again speak quite highly of the 827.

 

Lots of that scene was filmed around Birmingham, I recognise some of it particularly the A38 Bristol Road where the first chase was filmed.

Firstly, before even clicking play I just KNEW there'd be a video of a MG Maestro doing a handbrake turn and then a burnout on the Blackbird Leys estate. I assume that footage comes up on page one when anyone searches for Joyriding on the BBC Video Footage Repository.
