red5 Fleet/Hangar update 31/07/26

[red5]

This week..

Out -

To another AS

Traded for something red and mostly  working...there you go mate

In -

See above....oooerr

From AS...   Because Rover 75.

Patiently waiting -

2.4 ftw.

[DaveDorson]

That plate on the ranger looks somewhat familiar...

[red5]

Yeah, I thought so when I saw it.

It was Green and V8.

Now it's not..

[Cheezey]

Don't think I've ever seen a range rover that colour. It's lovely.

[DaveDorson]

Yeah, I thought so when I saw it.

It was Green and V8.

Now it's not..

One of ours was a green V8 Vogue.  That'd be really really weird.

[red5]

I like it, it's a 10 yard paint job though...

[red5]

Yep, Vogue...

Yes. It would. Go on, check...

[DaveDorson]

I've just confirmed with my younger brother..

It was either my old mans at one stage, or it lives very near to a family friend in Hertfordshire, we can't remember which one though..

[DaveDorson]

Just rang my dad..

Yeah, apparently he sold it to someone who took the engine out for a Morris Minor V8 pickup with a Jag rear end..  Dunno what happened to the shell/chassis after that though... the reg was L288 CRY...

I know the world is a small place.. but c'mon.. seriously?

[mercrocker]

One Life, Lives forever........

[DaveDorson]

it's be really really strange if I'd bought your Fronterror too...

Oh... wait

[red5]

Out - everything else.

In -

** Insert generic Frontera picture here **

There have been more. I'm a bit rubbish. Like my cars.

[red5]

Hmm.

It's a bit out of date - so here goes.

Passat went, then nearly came back. Was scrapped I believe.

Caravan lives on as a mx hack (sold to a old mates cousin or somesuch)

Vectra went to AS chap. Still going afaik.

[DodgyBastard]

What happened to the Tata?

[red5]

In and gone -

2.3 td - engine expired in hands of next owner.

[red5]

Oop north somewhere I believe, one of the Scottish isles?

1.8 D N/a

[red5]

What happened to the Tata?

Currently used as instruction aid...

So alive. And well-ish. Possibly being prodded for an MOT next year. Or not. Or...

[red5]

In and gone -

taxipaul,me, stanky... top,middle,bottom....

[red5]

In and gone (back down south). Thoroughly enjoyed.

[red5]

Another top, middle and bottom. Not sure where it is now, last seen on c&c ?

[red5]

In and gone. Sold to a mate, painted and sold it on. Last seen on ebay in the hands of a chancer

Prob should have kept it - 2.8 shorty.

[red5]

As above - currently awaiting something. Probably a lot of welding.

[red5]

Stil here. Bit of a dink as noted previously.

Doing sterling service - swmbo using it currently.

[red5]

Currently with no seats (stored) and not much floor (left).

Rear brakes next on mechanical list.

Runs

Seems to attract a lot of attention - may be time to move it on if I can't devote enough time to it.  :-/

[red5]

Well then. The winter beater.

Temp stopped coolant leak - enough to see if it's worth it....

Both rear doors in bits.

O/s/f window dropping out partial sorted (needs reg at some point- reg and door bent on inside)

Aerial lead u/s

............

[red5]

2.8 td Lwb - the dog's car/van/laner/hack.

Currently used as red5 loan car. Looking at you Mo.

Seemingly unkillable.

[red5]

The exploded clutch one. Repaired and gone. Shame, grey leather.

Amusingly it took the wife about a month to realise I had two. The leather gave it away.

Passat did a real good turn for my FiL but was just getting very tired in the ancillary department as most old VAG shit does. Stupid but time consuming things like yet more window regulators, door mechanisms etc.

Also had an almighty oil leak

Chuffed to see my old A6 in your photo above!

[red5]

That yank thing. Currently amusing students with column shift and mad-maxish looks.

Hoping to fix enough to MOT it. Once it's rewired, aaargh

[red5]

Seem to have accidentally aquired an Escort 1.8 Cabriolet.

Hate it when that happens.

Obviously ideal vehicle for winter commute. Because England.
