beko1987 Posted December 19, 2016 Author Posted December 19, 2016 Even with it's much improved forward momemtum it wasn't uneconomical (although I never drove it at full pelt the whole time). 600ish miles to 65 litres (well, a bit less, as I fill up when the light comes on) isn't too shabby. Will be interesting to see if that improves with a full tank when it next gets one.
twosmoke300 Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Tweaked to the point it wont pass an MOT is barrying is it not ? beko1987, The Moog, forddeliveryboy and 3 others 6
beko1987 Posted December 19, 2016 Author Posted December 19, 2016 Tweaked to the point it wont pass an MOT is barrying is it not ?I suppose so. It's all very well and fun making a mockery of the audi tdi's in L3 of the m40 and picking fights with bmw 3 series on the marlow bypass, or purposefully driving very slow and old man like when mr cocksocket comes up your arse then burning it away into the distance when he goes to overtake after 5 miles of missed opportunities just as you approach a bend but I'd rather not have this fun* every year at MOT time! egg Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 This thread has had more twists than an Agatha Christie novel. Been watching but nothing to add other than hope you get an early Xmas present! beko1987 1

beko1987 Posted December 19, 2016 Author Posted December 19, 2016 Me too! And I'm the storyteller. It's like those goosebumps books where you have to go to either page 28 or 47 to progress the story ShiteRider, Jim Bell and Dick Cheeseburger 3
beko1987 Posted December 19, 2016 Author Posted December 19, 2016 Oh, and repeated (3 times throughout my journey home) hard revving reveals no smoke. Promising

beko1987 Posted December 19, 2016 Author Posted December 19, 2016 Nah I'll be there waiting. Arthur Foxhake Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 It's not 'Barry' to adjust these pumps from their quite tame factory settings to improve driveability, loads of people do it.It's no problem making adjustments to the pump for more power. There's loads of gains to be had and still pass MOT. I've almost always ground a load off the LDA pin, shimmed the governor, cranked up the fuel and still never failed an MOT on emmisions. It's possible the wastegate was not adjusted to suit the extra fuel being added, I don't know. Besides, this isn't BarryBoys and we shouldn't be discussing "what is Barry and what isn't?" If somebody wants to mess with their car it's up to them really. DVee8 and beko1987 2
twosmoke300 Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Sorry - thought mot was today for some reason beko1987 and DeeJay 2

Otherwise It'll be EGR related I would think. beko1987 and SiC 2
beko1987 Posted December 19, 2016 Author Posted December 19, 2016 Just to clarify - I don't care who did what either. Their car, their choice! I bought it knowing full well what the score was, and am still very happy with it. This outlook may change at 1pm tomorrow but that would be the same of any mot result on any car. Arthur Foxhake Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Otherwise, Saab. Just saying like. beko1987 1

SiC Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I was just wondering what's the status of this was! I even went as far as finding the reg and firing up the most checker.

JohnK Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I've had the MOT check site up all morning in the office with C503 TLX on constant refresh, but now I know it's passed and I don't have any work to do it's now swapped over to R499 AMV! oldcars, beko1987, DeeJay and 3 others 6
