Found this little plaque in a saleroom this morning.

Looks like it was knocked up at Solihull, but probably only of interest to the hard core P6 perv.

That's a superb bit of automobilia!

And one of the most half arsed trophies I've ever seen!

I agree, it looks like it's been knocked up in someones shed.

Mr Wilson must have been thrilled to see his many years of loyal service recognised with such a thoughtful and beautifully crafted award....especially when he went out to his car afterwards and found the badge missing off the front!

There aren't any hardcore P6 pervs around here....

I mean, how much?

It's in a mixed lot with some crockery, I couldn't see it making more than a tenner.

If you are interested I could lob a bid on (the sale is in the morning).

Whereas in reality it was probably made in the special parts section and took someone about a week to produce, on overtime. (They were probably asleep most of the time though)

If the thing is selling for a tenner or so, yes, we'll buy it from you!

If you want it, no problem I can go and bid on it in the saleroom tomorrow (too late for me to leave a commission bid).

What is your upper limit?

£15?

Don't go to any trouble, it's just a fun thing.

In contrast I could see Mr WilsonWilson to be genuinely thrilled if a trophy of almost such quality* were awarded to him for something by this forum.

the badge stuck to the wood is worth more than £15 alone, surely?

Shh, he's trying to score a bargain. 8)

Sorry lads I let you down....

Auction in progress here, the plaque is on the edge of the table, between the two blokes on the left.

Lot 500  -  the green patterned sofa, and it's gone for a magnificent £1

Lot 501 - the table the plaque is sitting on, gone for another £1

Lot 502 - table top of mixed stuff including a jug, crockery. glasses and unmentioned Rover plaque.

Bidding stats at £10 on commission. Looking for £12 in the room - I'm in ......£14....£16 with me  £18.....£20 err... I'm out!

Someone else is in though,   £22.......

And the hammer came down at ......£24 - Sorry.

I did however snag this toolkit for £15 - so not a wasted trip.

Mr Wilson probably bought it back after he saved his crappy Rover pension for 10 years.

Gosh, I think you just created an AS Oscar.

But thank you, I will (virtually) treasure it.

My good advice, now that it's too late, as an auction regular; when something you fancy is in a mixed lot and you fail to bid high enough it's always worth checking with the winner whether they were after that particular item or something else in the lot. I have often managed to blag the thing I wanted because the other person wanted something else and was happy to take a few quid for it

^ WHS, they probably wanted the vase or some other shit and probably planning on binning the golden Rover globe so a cheeky £10 offer would probably had seem them bite your arm off.

I let you down.

I let me down.

I let the whole school down.
