Shame about this

This "can't be repaired" nonsense - what gives? Who says? What bit of totalitarian bullshit is this?

Since when was a bit of water (even if it has sewage in it) fatal to a car? Who needs a punch in the teeth to get this horseshit changed?

F.F.S., hope somebody rings this.

Yeah it's in my watch list that. Problem is there's hardly a plentiful supply of terminally frigged 1959 Simca Arondes to ring it with.

Edit, although if you've the patience I guess you could search period photographs and road tests for similar Simca Arondes. MOT history check the plates to see if they're still on the DVLA system, and if clearly long gone (i.e. last MOT 1981 for something) apply for a logbook. Then ring away. Or just go to France.

I'd buy it and sit on it and find a rotten shell on leboncoin for an I.d.

There is nothing to stop a cat b going back on the road, I've had this argument numerous times. The categorization is basically someones opinion and carries no legal weight and frankly the dvla couldn't give a shit

See linky below from the blue forum where a guy put's a merc back on the road

That's an interesting thread, but I can't believe it's always that easy!

A bloke done this with a flood damaged rover 75 v8.

After a little wrangling its now on the road

Old girlfriend used to have an Aronde. Talked about it quite a bit.

So "Simca Aronde" still evokes wistful feelings even now.

"they have deemed it a category B (BREAKER) "

Is this how it works?

Cat A = Absolutely fucked

Cat B = Breaker

Cat C = Could be fixed

Cat D = Dented
