VWPowered Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 came with some nice wheels.. 1995 1.8TD Mondeo... (Gratuit my favourite french word)only want the clocks so i can have a rev counter in the transit and i may nick its front seats too but undecided if i want to go from 3 seats to 2 or not..
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Can't believe these are tat. I remember going with my dad to order a brand new one. Seems like yesterday...
Pillock Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Turdblowa' with a 150mph speedo? How optimistic??As for the seats - NO! I spent five years driving a Mk1 Mondeo quite a few miles and I blame my twisted, painful spine entirely on the rubbish seats it had. I enjoyed the day the man with the flatbed gave me £102 and it appeared in component form on eBay :)Looks quite good nick though, is it buggered mechanically?
VWPowered Posted March 15, 2009 Author Posted March 15, 2009 yeah dropped ther timing belt, have a courier with the same problem
Richard Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Measure the valve clearances. I got away with a timing belt on my Escort TD.The rev counter is likely to run from the W terminal on the alternator, at least it did on the Escort.
whitevanman Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 I have a nioce mk1 TD estate, new belts, new front bearings, low miles, MOT'd. then the ungratefull thing blew its diff...............replacm,ent gearbox aquired set to do job, many hours later realise that the whole front end has to come off..................Fuck that of to the dump, anyone want it before it goes? alos CortinaDave had a mk1 2.0 Ghia in need of a steering rack...............almost all the front end has to be disconected and a special spannner............of to the dump.............IF I ever own a Mondeo again it will be disposable and have no love thrown at it whatever, it has put me of new cars completely from the point of view of fixing them.
