Supernaut Posted May 14, 2016 Author Posted May 14, 2016 Thread resurrection! What happened to the white Xantia Estate autoshite bike? I'd still be up for giving it a loving home, as it's a bosch pumped XUD.
bub2006 Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I have it and really really rate it. Comfy, economical, spacious and quite nippy. Awesome towcar and sublime suspension. Defiantly recommended. I'd certainly have another.
rml2345 Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Like Bub I really rate mine (even if it did fail the MOT) as it just rides superbly and handles well, if a bit numb in the steering department.1.8 petrol is peppy enough without being too bad on fuel so I wouldn't knock back a pez if it's in good order. Rust and crap PSA parts back up appear to be the killers on these.
Supernaut Posted May 14, 2016 Author Posted May 14, 2016 Aaaaah, fair enough. I have this on my watch list, but it's in that London. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191871465908?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Supernaut Posted May 17, 2016 Author Posted May 17, 2016 I managed to get somebody else local to have a prod at it and told them what to look for, but they'd also considered Xantias in the past for themself so knew what to look for, and... er... yeah, it was good.*ahem*Collection thread on Saturday. UltraWomble Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Collection thread on Saturday. There is a strong possibility (depending on how pissed I was on the Friday night) I will be knocking around Preston on Sat if you want moral or physical support, a brew or Fray Bentos pie. binhoker668 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 I can only add to the positive comments before - mine (at least) is and has been great - I havenae had a problem with the ride either although I believe people have been unimpressed....Only thing that dusnae work on mine is the A/C - would love to know what's up with it, but am not gonna poke too much in case the wheels fall off etc...P reg 1.9 TD SX.
themildbunch Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 A mate had one and it caught fire. Properly, I mean; burned out within 2 minutes of him pulling to the side of the road. So if you do buy one, either wear full Nomex, sit inside a huge goldfish bowl, or make sure the fire brigade peepz follow you at all times. My friend's N reg 1.9 TD XUD xantia did this - fairly common fault I think with the poor quality positive battery cable breaking down and heating up! Loads about but as said often shagged as they're right at the bottom of their value curve at the moment.. kind of like the BX was for ages.... I thought the general consensus is that while heavier and more refined than the BX it replaced - it wasn't as fun to drive and some jobs are harder / nastier - clutch, matrix, etc
