Conrad D. Conelrad Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 What do I bring on Tuesday, improved* Rover or potential new purchase? The mystery new thing with a carburettor!! Ghosty 1
chodweaver Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 Don't worry. I've got a tow rope in the executive saloon....that we can attach to Bub's trike. "We'll get you there"
Junkman Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 Despite I can't leave you ugly lot on your own for five fucking minutes, you'll have to see how you get along without me, I'm afraid.Actually, I'm not afraid. I fear the worst. Ghosty and bub2006 2
bub2006 Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 ...that we can attach to Bub's trike. "We'll get you there"Trike off road at the minute. And you can be knackered if you think I'm going up snake pass or cat and fiddle without a full Siberian outfit! The heaters aren't too grand
Guest Hooli Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 Trike off road at the minute. And you can be knackered if you think I'm going up snake pass or cat and fiddle without a full Siberian outfit! The heaters aren't too grand Wuss!
Guest Hooli Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 Achieved many moons ago. DSCN5938.JPG When are you going to get a proper car? The Reverend Bluejeans 1
chodweaver Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 Trike off road at the minute. And you can be knackered if you think I'm going up snake pass or cat and fiddle without a full Siberian outfit! The heaters aren't too grandShame. Hold on. It has heaters?!?
Ghosty Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 An exposed engine doesn't count as a heater, Bub. chaseracer 1
Guest Hooli Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 Shame. Hold on. It has heaters?!? Well the radiator is about the size of a heater matrix & has a fan...
Guest Hooli Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 If only someone had made a lightweight body, maybe out of fibreglass to put over it to keep the heat in & the weather out.
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 When are you going to get a proper car? When it's rusty as your Jag. It may be some time.
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 Despite I can't leave you ugly lot on your own for five fucking minutes, you'll have to see how you get along without me, I'm afraid.Actually, I'm not afraid. I fear the worst. Verdammt. So, wo ist mein Geburtstag Bier? Verraeter!
Ohdearme Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 I have no idea of the precise location of this event but it seems I will be travelling back north and can be glossopish around 7 tomorrow. As I’m in Hoolis (ok, mine now) SAAB, I’ll probably need to stop to allow the heater to start blowing warm again by then. Any more specific details are welcome otherwise I’ll just kerb crawl around glossop looking for chod* *autocorrect to make chod into child, good luck explaining that post away to the authorities...
Cleon-Fonte Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 We'll be in the car park behind the town hall, just off the high street. Postcode SK13 8AA.
Ohdearme Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 Could I also ask a favour at this...I have to collect something from a barn down south on Wednesday and although I’m taking a 10mm spanner for the battery I’m not sure I possess the requisite balls of steel to go down there and hope that will be sufficient to start something in a barn 250 miles from my home address... Does anyone fancy lending me a magic jump starter type device in case of woes? Must be light enough to not kill me walking round London with it Obliged in advance.
Guest Hooli Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 As I’m in Hoolis (ok, mine now) SAAB, I’ll probably need to stop to allow the heater to start blowing warm again by then. You'll be warm. It only goes cold in town or slow moving traffic. Ohdearme 1
Guest Hooli Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Wifi is working in the car park as normal.
Ohdearme Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Sadly I was summonsed home to see a builder so was two hours ahead of shiters as I whistled through.
Guest Hooli Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Shame, I has the washer fluid cap with me too.It was a good turn out of chod too. Ghosty, Conrad D. Conelrad, Squire_Dawson and 1 other 4
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 The Powerhaus was an unbridled success tonight. We didn’t leave until 11.45 AND I worked my charm on our favourite* waitress. She smiled not just once, but many times and was quite lovely to us. Our Fuehrer was sadly missed though. Ohdearme and Ghosty 2
Ghosty Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Aye twas a good'un - seems to be the birthday edition of NP too, as at least three of us have early November birthdays! The Reverend Bluejeans 1
chodweaver Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Good to see all who turned out. Many laughs were had. But I must remember in future to limit myself to one mug of coffee, notwithstanding that this defeats the point of free refills. The reason? I felt decidedly queasy on the journey home, just through having consumed two lattes. Plus I now cannot sleep. I did however derive a modicum of entertainment from the repeated failure of the new female barsteward to draw beer without creating more head than liquid*, despite the efforts of her colleagues to school her in this matter. *This, sadly, is not a euphemism. Guest Hooli Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Sorry I had to leave early, I was struggling to stay awake chaps. That's what sleepless nights do for you at my age, Good to see you all though.. I'm already in Leeds for the 9am start here, it's just easier to get here in the damn traffic. Jag appears to have climbed over 24mpg on the run too, which seems bloody good to me considering all the traffic & the adequate* sized engine. FIlling up over there at just* £1.22 felt cheap, I miss the days of 54p when I started driving. I didn't realise it was our favourite scowling harridan at first, she looks different when she smiles. Food was amazingly quick & seemed better cooked too which was nice. Squire_Dawson and The Reverend Bluejeans 2
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 She's been 'promoted'. She'd just turned 18 so was able to serve drinks and so on, and admitted when probed that she hated serving tables. She's ok really. The drive home across the Pass Of Death was lively. Freshly rained on so it was a bit slippy plus sheep wandering out in the roads, in the dark. A nice steady 50 all the way back. The food was very good indeed. Ghosty Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 I was meaning to do this but I'm hardly around the computer at the moment. I'll be there as ever.
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 I shan't be there this time as a plane to Foreign climes departs the same evening. The Weihnachten Powerhaus promises to be a fine one though.
Guest Hooli Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 Bump for Tuesday 4th Dec as the title hasn't been changed yet.
