Lets take the Scenic route shall we?

Well, despite vowing to myself NOT to obtain anymore shite. I have appeared to have done just the very opposite. Again. Sigh.

I spotted an ad on G*mtree for a dusty looking reddish R reg Scenic. It was cheap. £100.

Pro's: it looked in reasonable nick. Mk1 Scenic, petrol, 1.6 (IIRC), double sunroof, PAS, A/C and all that.

Con's: Mk1 Scenic, double sunroof, knocking exhaust, non-worky speedo. Needs a clean and has a months ticket left.

The viewing.

Hindered by 3 or more car pile up on the M25 car park between J25 and J24. Stop, start, crawl, stop, start....... you get the picture.

Then the satnav started to cut out. WTF? This was traced to a dodgy lead, other lead used, all happy again. Phew.

Got there about 10 mins late, could have been worse.

The seller has had the car for a year and got himself a newer Scenic. Bye bye old Scenic.

It's a sort of red colour, not bright red, more an dark orangey red. Looks ok. Bodywork is in very good nick, no real bumps to speak of. Interior has been child used. Needs a good vacuuming and a clean but I actually enjoy that. Everything seems to work apart from the speedo. There is no flashing ABS light, so it might be a new fuse needed, fixing a grey wire in  the engine bay as this can be a cause.

Exhaust needs a clamp or something. Needs petrol putting in the tank.

Couple of other minor bits, nothing too hassley.

Tow bar fitted too.

Just call me MPV Man.

I've travelled 1000+ miles as a passenger in one of these and driven a few. Comfy car to ride in but both the diesel ones I drove had no real getup and go.

If the petrol version is as gutsy as the Mitsubishi then all will be well :)

I would say, no need to bust a gut to rush some pics onto here of this one.

Its a Scenic. We know what they look like.

The only benefits of pictures would be to show how clean and shiny I can make it.

Still, if you want me to then I will at some point.

On a work Trip which involved picking up a hire car in Rome and Driving across the mountains, I decided that the Scenic was shite.

The next time I went I was given the same keys, and passed them back to the nice Italian lady and stated that she would have to find me a different car, which was not French. I ended up in something fast and Italian with a Lancia badge.

I do however have a full new column switch assembly for the Mk1 Scenic, which may be the first off the assembly line. Or it might be a 1997 clio one, that is almost the same apart from the angles and the shade of grey. Anyway Probably interchangeable.
