Broken spring overnight it appears. Sitting so low I can't get the jack under it.

I was surprised the spring went. I was very surprised the sill went. I'm just glad that Spring didn't give when someone was driving it.

It was a fifty quid car. Spring arrived at 12, will pull it in for fitting on Monday and get the sills welded.

Stereo code found in the owners manual so Radio 2 has now been achieved. Spring still not changed. Harrumph.

As seen elsewhere, the 406 now has a cellmate.

 

 

Work has continued slowly due to my alcoholic mechanic being less drunk than normal.

 

The spring was done on Thursday night, whilst welding commenced today.

 

The nearside sill was drained...

 

... and plated.

 

 

The offside was holed after I helpfully put the jack through it after the spring went through the tyre. The inner sill is fucked too so it is undergoing surgery just now. Currently we are here...

 

 

 

Will be schutz'd underneath on Monday and go for test next week at some point I hope, then I'll fill the sills with nice tasty waxoyl.

Not pretty but it is plated... MOT next week.

Tame mechanic popped past today to schutz the underside. He normally leaves the welding untouched until after MOT to ensure the repairs can be seen but he was half cut and had an offcut of cardboard to use as a rough guide so I now have a schutz tidemark.

 

 

MOT tomorrow at 8.45 allegedly as he has court at ten.
