Pick-up truck wanted

Hey gang, anyone know someone whos got a pick-up truck for sale? A toyota hilux-sized thing. Not bothered what it is or what it loks like, as long as it has or will get an MOT without a mega 6-month weldfest. I've been watching em on eBay but anything japanese makes 'serious' money, like £5-600 for real shitters, which no doubt then head off to sunnier climes. The exporters arent so fussed about Sierra P100's, one of those would be OK, theres not loads around though. Any ideas? I've got about £500 available.

Or a older, rustier, Caddy 'project' for over twice the price of the Tata. Go scene tax, go! It does have some Mot though.

Bonus points for 'tax expired, drive it home' in the description. GR8 for alerting teh pigz.

fookin ell, probably ought to have thought of that, 'not bothered what it is as long as it not a Tata Loadbotta', sorry!

Don't you already OWN a pick-up?

NOW you go getting all picky! Thought a Loadbeater was ubershite? I particually like the way you can watch them rust on a damp day.Edit: I've just realised they're called 'Loadbeta', and exactly how much innuendo there is in 'Loadbeater' - "A guy in a Saxo just cut me up at the roundabout, what a complete loadbeater".

Hey Bo11ox! Found one for you. Long T&T. £350! I have a photo of the phone number...

Come on now Alf_Bo1, can't be so picky! That Cortina is pretty freaky (clearly the work of some nutter who wished he had the money for a 50's chevy), but £350 is bargainarific for an old ford pick-up, with an A-frame hitcher, OMG RWD and of course paint that will earn you instant 'points' over on the RR board.

Rather than drive round in that despicable looking cretin carrier I would single-handedly carry a rayburn cooker to france myself (on my back). It looks appalling and is clearly the work of a lunatic.Having said that, I believe the buck is interchangeable between a sierra and a cortina pick up so you could remove and weigh in the one pictured above, and replace it with a sierra one. It would look shit, but less shit than it does now.

The Sierra buck is ok when fitted, only the swage line looks odd..............does it have to be one for sale? as I could loan you mine in a few weeks time if it would help :)

Bloody pick-up snob! There I go running off to photograph it, cowering with embarassment as a whole queue of hairy hot rod type blokes watch me and all you can say is....etc.

NCF-DIAMOND

What about this lovely high quality item?

Not.

NO V5 BUT A CORTINA V5 COULD BE USED

Current bid: £5.50

Hmmm... looks about right imo.

This looks (too?) cheap - asking £180, no more info. Worth a call?

Have you tried looking for a Vauxhall Brava?, these may go cheaper than the 'proper' Japanese branded ones. What about the Skoda Felicia one? - believe these were offered as the Caddy replacement for a while - may even have been badged as a Caddy.

A Peugeot 504 would be perfect, but good ones seem to go for over a grand. Not sure what prices Marinas and Ital pick ups go for these days and finding one would be a pain. Proton and skoda pick ups are quite recently therefore pricey so therefore I reckon a VW caddy, Taro or this:

Those are great bits of kit. I had a company one in 95/96/97 (L817DOV) Did over 130.000 miles in it myself with no vehicle faults other than a rad leak. Took every thing-every abuse I threw at it.

Cheers WVM but I hate borrowing other folks shite! You just know the crankshaft is gonna snap the moment I get behind the wheel or some such, its inevitable. ANyway I need one for most of the summer so I really need to buy something. I'd love one of those little fiats, smaller really than I want but I would buy one just for the shite factor.
