Anyone fancy driving a car south from just north of Edinburgh

I am presently drooling over the prospect of owning FOADs Niva but short of selling a kidney there is no way I can afford the train ticket up there (more than the price of the car!). Is there anyone heading south from that way on who needs a free ride? I would cover petrol obviously and a healthy offering of beer tokens would be transferred. Even if I could get it to somewhere in North England it would do as I could get there without selling parts of my anatomy to a Chinese investor. The further south the better but any help would be much appreciated.

tried a few places but limited on when I can go due to work and it seems every one wants to go at the same time (or the scumbag companies just want to make a killing). Last time I went to Edinburgh it was £40! I looked at flights (cool for the collection thread) but the 'from £70' were a long way from £70.

I am not going from London unfortunately, crazy that a sleeper is cheaper than a crappy 2nd class ticket.

Work takes me from Cheshire to Edinburgh next Wednesday, and back again on Friday, both in an empty car. So there's seats there if it helps.

Dunfermline is a small place, the car is in Cowdenbeath but I'd be willing to pick you up from whatever train station within say a 30 mile radius of Cowdenbeath is cheapest for you to get to.

thanks for the kind offer, but I work in a school for kids with disabilities so am very limited in when I can go, which I guess is why the train costs are so high.
