Imagine there was a thread for stuff like this, how great would that be?

I've seen worse! That doesn't look too bad actually.

'Any offer' seems very fair, he just wants it gone.

I'm sure this has a story or two to tell... i think this needs to be permanently parked in the scrap heap (at least they'd get more for it there than on gumtree).

Well in fairness, the engine apparently fires, so may be of some use.....................

Myself, I always wonder just how exactly cars end up in such a mess - what were they thinking?

This will be an easy job, if those grease monkeys can do it how hard can it be? I will have it done in a month, ooh didn't expect a hole that big, do they really rust there? I will just leave it a week or two and get back to it. Etc etc

I will accept ANY offers made for the car.

Reaches into pocket, digs deep...Ball of lint?

You could easily buy a running car and find it might be worse.  He/she needs really more description - is it rotten underneath, stuff like that.

Oh right, see what you mean. I always think of the analogy of trying to cut a hole out of a doughnut, and leave bodywork to rot away...........

Fucktons of panels for these isn't there? Get it owned someone.

Yes. In the same way friendly fire achieves its objectives.

Don't know why everyone is still prattling on about the 20 - It will arrive in due course! If anybody has any derisive witticisms to make, why don't they do one better, get on Leboncoin/ebay.fr and hoik one back to Blighty? Then they may feel qualified to pour scorn upon my efforts

Looking at the state of the boot lid,the rear quarter suffered accident damage.

Damaged panel was cut off,but the repair never happened.

Hard to tell from the pics but the car looks solid enough.

That would be a good project for someone,

Theres some life left in that car yet.

Not even a fan of MG's.

Yeah, Its like our lass - Good on the inside, rotten on the outside!! hahahah

I can't see that ever going back on the road tbh - looks like a few parts - IE engine- will be extracted, and the rest straight down the scrappy!

Never know why people always seem to hoard trash in shagged SORN motors

I'm sure most serious restorations look as dismal as that for a while early on in the project.

I have pics of an mgb that was in that state at the beginning of the year so they can be done quite quickly,

My two will probably never get touched though.

I don't think anyone actually cares about your apparent efforts. I just wish you would fuck off and die.

If it were a 1960/70's Ford etc.

*Edit: FOAD - you sound like you need to get out of Scotland and cheer up a bit, fella. Just don't come to Cornwall though.

It's a £250 running chrome bumper MGB, it's entitled to look the pits

No. No car is entitled to look so rough IMO. I think he might get an offer from someone wanting to take the engine out on site and still leave him with the problem, but that's it.

To be honest the only way you will be taken seriously now is to post some pics of the renno 20 or at least start a thread about you own cars.

Interesting thing about the state of the scrap market right now is that the crusher doesn't beckon things like this because by the time you've hauled it to the weighbridge the price won't cover the diesel.

Why read them then?

I cant find the pre resto pics but here is the finished car and when he told me he was painting it a modern colour I didn't think it was going to be a good idea, I have to say apart from the rally style mud flaps the car has turned out pretty good in such a short time and it was pretty rough too.
