Daily out of action - Billy no sniggering

My old Focus has shat it's power steering pump and a new one is £££. There is nothing local and when I search on ebay with the part number the only ones listed are on the continent.

 

I find it hard to believe it's rare and think there must be other pumps which fit

 

The part number I have is 1m5j-3a674-cb, can anyone shed any light on whether any others fit or where I may be able to find one sharpish?

Imagine my disappointment when I found out it wasn't an Iveco Daily.

 

 

 

 

 

I'd struggle to believe PAS pumps are rare for a Focus, surely to God other types (of Focus) ones fit? Worth trying an owners club forum?

I may need to resort to the OC. There must be a way of cross referencing parts somewhere

me FiL old focus, well I say old, it was a 56 plate mark 2 shat its power steering pump too, in the end it needed to be a brand new ford one from a main stealer cos he couldn't get one anywhere else, not motor factors, scrappy, anywhere.

 

it was only like an LX or similar, not a dead flash or posh one.

 

and yes, it was not a cheap fix, which isn't what you will want to hear....

My old mk2 mondeo v6 was the same. Ford apparently thought it was highly logical* to fit different pumps, depending on the age, spec and engine size of the car!

(The st24 was a completely different pump to the ghia x i had)

Made for a total bastard of a job, that and the rampant tin worm finally killed it off!

 

Have you tried one of those online scrappies like breaker yard?

Moog has a dead Focus, is it worth having a word?  Only in Accrington...

OK, you have a  Focus 1.8 Diesel, built between 2/99 and 12/07. The part you require is a TRW made pump, JPR 188.

Only fitted to Focus Diesels by the parts manuals cross referencing. Prices for new are CRAZY, unless you buy Polish...
