Amid the deafening silence that's been greeting these posts, I thought perhaps a snapshot would help.  You can see that what's on offer is a handsome car, a luxury car even, and were it not for the tiresome legalities of MoT I'd still be driving it, daily and for all purposes.

It's FWD and manual, and on top of that, only a four-pot engine, three very strong reasons why I shouldn't enjoy driving it!  But you know what?  I do.

For me the big negative is the modernity.  It's just too damn sophisticated.  Which means that when something needs fixing, like now, it's difficult and expensive.  My 1967 Anglia never needed ABS sensors!

 

Am I trying to talk myself into keeping it?

No, because I haven't got the funds to proceed.

Am I trying to talk you lot out of buying it?

No, because I know many of you are better-placed than I am to look after it.

You'd've fixed the MR2, and the Sable.  I would!  BUT: you of all people, have seen where I live and what kind of available workspace I have (none, zip, zilch).  A £30 sensor becomes a £100 sensor by the time I've paid Martin to deal with it, and it's not like I have shelves laden with spare parts either. 

If you wanted to fix it you should have made me an offer, it's unlikely I would have refused!
