I'm working out of the "shack" next to my house until a unit comes up and desperately trying to keep the neighbours on side :) :)

I'm sure having most of the ASWM turn up to advise/take the piss, and, err,  "help" will only ensure the continued support of your neighbours.......

I just introduced myself yesterday on this forum. Although been lurkin for ages. Got up half an hour ago and been reading this thread. It makes me feel warm inside, good start to the day. By the way if anybody needs mechanical help in the west country, I have a garage full of tools and a largish drive way. Howevever, said drive is normally full of shite.

^^ Hello and welcome.

Driveways and tools are always the combination of winners even though Devon.

Funny how I still look on these as new though even though it's 13 years old now. I still think anything over p/r plate as being modern!

My first brand new was a 1994 L plate,i still think of that as new, even though i have new modern cars.

Great stuff this, folks...

I remember Bub was gonna come over and help me with a similar crisis a year or two ago - I got it sorted in the end, but nonetheless, he would have come over.  Karmic echoes here hey!

Midlands to the rescue!

I WILL have to hook up with yez at some point...

Well after a auto factors cock up I will make sure I'm ready today. Tried to arrange all bits, rang round and got a quote of 145 pound which I thought wasn't too bad. Rang company later to see if on stock to find the 145 quid was for brakes alone. Not as cheap after all. Finally found brakes, pads etc cambelt, pump etc too for 188. Collection today then we good to go.

Car and spanner flashed up on Way home, come up as fan control unit. Would that be the interior fan? Thanks

Yes mate, it had 3 faults stored in the BCM, once that resistor is changed all shall be right.

P1480, I wasn't sure if meant interior or engine cooling fan. I'm going to get a resistor etc when I get paid again. Thanks for plugging it in to computer. Car doesn't feel as laggy/ hesitant on pull-off either.
