Car needed in Essex for return leg of collection capers!

Hello folks and folk-esses,

The keen (obsessed?) shiters among you will have noticed that purplebargeken is purchasing a rather fine blue oval jelly mould and needs it delivered to the Chelmsford area.

Relay request:

http://autoshite.com/topic/22127-autoshite-delivery-service-needed-with-added-sierra-flavour/

Rude vehicle in question:

http://autoshite.com/topic/22121-y-reg-sierra-20-ghia-auto/

So, since I am currently TIME_RICH (and a bit jealous), I offered to pootle down in said motah, and I guess fly home since Stanstead is near(ish) the rendezvous, and Tooncastle Air-bus type terminal thingy is near(ish) where I live.

But there MUST be a more fun way right?

My challenge to the faithful; find me some cheap abject heap to drive home in, or have me deliver some other car to some other place vaguely between Essex and the North East.

CAVEATS:

-I only have a budget of about £400 tops if I'm keeping whatever I buy, I could maybe do with a winter hack or 'fixer upper'.

-The cheaper the better, because it's funnier that way.

-I could be persuaded to do an AT COST ROFFLE if it's something any of you lot might want

-It can be something terminally rotten if its parts can cover the cost, I have room to break even the largest cars

-If it's a breaker, then a good engine donor for older shite would take precedence.

-Due to running nothing but classics for the last decade, I have NO NO CLAIMS :( so it needs to be more than about 20 years old or group -2 or something.

One more thing! Everything on ebay is 20% off (max £50) from RIGHT NOW until 10PM, which at our end of the market could be very helpful.

How about a green ZT that could be in the London area this weekend?

Posted

Aha!

I had spotted Panhard's ZT, all the Rover love here recently has made me take a bit of a shine to it. That said, we are now looking at probably two weeks from now, which gives plenty of time for some sort of caper to be arranged. I fear the classic insurers may not like the ZT yet, but one of these days I'm going to need a modern(ish) car to build some NCB :(

I had no hassle whatsoever with the 75 via Peter Best and that was a 2001 car. The Beetle was a 'modern'. NCB wasn't involved just out of interest.

The ZT does look like a nice car with plenty of potential too.

Go for it.

Panhard also has a Maserati that needs collecting from the other side of London

So you need to find a car in Somerset to get home in....

I imagine that once Saturday evening arrives there will be plenty of cars to move around.

The Maserati collection is off for this weekend but will hopefully be back on middle of next week now.

Unfortunate timing PH, looks like i'm going to be waiting until Ken gets back from holiday. Is getting the car to London a one-time offer or repeatable? I don't want to put you out or anything.

A one time offer really as it's a bloody long way and not somewhere I enjoy driving to.

I understand completely, I'm sure something else will come up. Thanks though.
