In answer to Jon, ref BFG plates....Pretty sure they were allowed back to Blighty, there used to be loads of cars running round on them at the local barracks.  Maybe they were restricted to UK and W.Germany only or something.   Once you were properly posted back here you had to revert to the UK reg but there was a period of grace for doing so.   I think the IRA thing was actually what did away with the whole idea and serving member's cars had normal UK plates after a couple of camp attacks.

The Fiorino is at the Shell filling station on Wigan Rd (A49) in Leyland.

 

 

The Hillman was my grandfathers and will be somewhere off Rippon Street when they were flattening the terraces round there early 80's.

Great pictures, I presume this wasn't far from where some of the photos were taken, though the photographer didn't seem to find this dealer.

The dealer for some of the photos was Middleforth green - a garage just slightly further up the road - seem this used car lot was a second hand outlet for the main site.
