Forge pail: Ford Mondeo £300!

I've just laughed out loud at that. Take a bow, Sir.

Timeline of a Ford Mondeo usually goes like this:- new to a rep who's driving style is akin to being late for an accident and seeing if he can bounce the needle off the rev counter coming off the roundabout at Weston Favell > sold to middle-aged couple who enjoy bingo and crocheting jumpers for Giles Brandreth and never go further than the end of their nose > sold to a working class family who have a couple of kids but maintain the car and look at it as 'part of the family' > sold to a single mum / low-income family who just about afford to pay their QuickQuid payment off on the minimum every month. Kind of people who find change on them and pay for a dribble of fuel. No maintenance on the car / running bald tyres, coolant all just water, washing up liquid for screenwash / full of dents and scratches and rust wherever you look > scrapyard or banger track. Done.

This stuff is the only reason I come here.

I don't even like cars ffs.

Now home after an texts hour and a half because the A14 was shut due to an accident and Sat nav uselessness.

Car behaved beautifully droning wheel bearing apart and a combination of Radio 2 and give love got me home. Pictures tomorrow due to 5am start tomorrow.

I got an XUD and a boom box for £100. I mean, it's shit, but..........

Did you get that ropey looking thing from King's Lynn?

Changed the bearing on my old Ghia X TDCi (great car).

30 quid gets you a new un. X4 Torx bolts and unclip ABS sensor to fit - piece of piss.

Mondeo arrived very safely in Essex this afternoon courtesy of our very own serial shite picker up and deliverer - 'Craig the Princess'.

Huge thanks to Craig and to Billy.

What a lovely car! The colour is actually very classy and the car is in good condition indeed.

A quick wipe over and fitting of the CD player I have bought for it - then MOT in December. Handbrake will get a tweak and that bearing will get done.

This will likely not be a keeper so if anyone has an interest then give me a shout whenever.

How do you mean? It felt like you would expect a handbrake to come up but then gets stiff rather than start on the ratchet.

Nice to meet you again Ken, thanks for the Greggs stake bake too ðŸ‘Â

I cannot comment as yet. I will on Saturday though.

When the calipers start to seize, you pull the handle up, the first half inch or so it doesn't feel like there's any resistance. Giving the calipers a wind in and out might sort it. Then a liberal squirt of grease into the handbrake sheaths.
