That will have been registered new by John Wallwork Volvo in Liverpool.   Just as my 244 was!  What a lovely pair they would have made...

I love the look of these Dafs, and I'm very tempted to come and visit the barn at some point! (if I'm welcome).

I have a Dutch mate who says these rubber band powered Dafs are seen as a joke by a lot of people over there, in a similar way to Reliant Robins over here. They're for people who can't drive :D

That orange estate with the KN alloy wheels used to be quite local to me. Chatted to the bloke a few times but I think he moved away a couple of years ago.  A cool car.

Am I right in thinking one of the early Volvo 340 was rubber band tactic?

I think all the automatics were. I remember one on a G plate came in part ex, I was checking it out and thought it had a problem, it just woudnt rev very well. ( turns out you should never rev them in `P`

What's the little brown one need, how much is it, etc?  Not that I'm looking to expand my fleet or anything.

What a flippin unholy racket off that 340 transmission. Do they all sound like that?

Seeing one of these takes me back.

A guy a few doors down from my mum and dad had one when I was little. It stood out from all the cortina and viva's on the street.

V, it needs a fair bit of welding. I can try and get you an idea if you want. Will need a full resto though.

Not very good health things possibly going on with Mrs. PBK. No more projects at this point in time mean I am not taking on the brown 44 that I was pencilled in for.

Oh that isn't good news Ken.  FWIW I know how it is, come to me for moral support any time.

Cheers mate, much appreciated. We have an urgent meeting with a consultant in the next week and a bit. Fingers crossed it is positive and it is something stupid and minor.

You had a 33 van!!!!!!!! There are about 3 or 4 left now in the UK. My mate has one. It is ace and will be restored as soon as.

The 46 has only one belt, at least with two you stand a chance of getting home.

Variomatic :)

I should be getting a 44 in a couple of month. I know. I know!

I didn't know they only had one belt later on. Mind you, combine harvesters including the one in my little picture only had drive variator belt but I've never been stranded. Heres my 33 van. It was very good on soft ground due to the dual belt drive and no diff...

Brilliant picture! Do you mind if I copy it and put it on my mates daf forum later? When I get rid of the sedation I had earlier and can think straight(er) that is.
