Honda is borked I think.

Oil light came on.

Changed oil and Filter (on the grounds that I had no reason not to)

Some 'debis' in oil

Oil light still on.

Bad tractor noises from engine.

This is a 135k MILE 2.2 04 HONDA DEISEL.

I'm thinking it's scrap as in not worth repair, but worth more for parts ?

Anyway.

Could it come at a better time ?

Mx5 needs a clutch, so I'm planning to drive that to Derby on Monday, and Take it To PH sportcars, the MX5 specialist, where they have a curtesy car awaiting.

Might be a long 110 miles with the clutch slipping.

Sack it off and buy an old Honda Accord TDi with the Rover L-series engine, Rover diesel > Honda diesel.

Oil pump faulty?

I had a water pump once which looked and sounded fine but the rotor would slip on the axle when you gave it some revs.

Nah, Rover 600 diesel. This is AS.

I'm not sure the economics of a diesel outweigh the mpg advantages.

Given that I've spent 2500 in repairs over the last 3 years, that is depreciation plus repairs of 2000 per year over 4 years of ownership.

Now the difference over 15000 miles a year is about £800 in fuel.

So If I just spent £1000 on a petrol car every year and scrapped it after 1 year, I'd still be better off.

If only I'd have gotten into the cabby's repairs this week. You could have come and bought a decadent late model Viking badged luxury 25 Streetwise.

Well one that looks a bit chewed up and spat out at least.

Possibly need some thing a bit bigger.
