skattrd Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 the octavia managed a 16.832 @81mph yesterday.. reckon any of you attending the GLF meet could beat that?I have never been on a drag strip, but I'm hoping the boring can beat the Skoda. The boring may have a generic remap and a lighter than standard flywheel, oh and it started out as a 110 compared to the Skoda being a 90. Do we need to bring helmets?
skattrd Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 I'm currently in discussion with a mate about him coming along with my Tipo. 320touring 1

320touring Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 http://www.yorkraceway.org.uk/RWYB.html As posted here, we are going to need Helmets, drivers licence and most importantly whatever piece of junk we chose to arrive in lol. Deffo worth a read and I will presume we are to enter as a club so we are pitched against each other and not the wider audience ????Correct on all fronts! Helmets are a damn good idea anyway they'll run a class for us seperatly
bub2006 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Rwyb sounds fun. I'd like to see what the scenic could do. Would need a driver though due to my gammy leg and this being a manual means I can't be fast on the clutch!

320touring Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 Hello chaps. Latest update on this: we may need to pay up front for this- possibly just entrance/ camping, or it may be full whack (inc rwyb) I am awaiting clarification. On the helmet front (steady!) they have helmets available to hire for a small deposit, so you need not bring your own. I think I'll close entry to this on Friday 14th so we have a month for planning/payment. Anyone who wants to come get the list up dated please! cheers skattrd and davidfowler2000 2

"Just spoken to the raceway- we can arrive and camp after 6pm on the Fi 18th (£5 per person) Admissionbto the event is £15 on Sat the Run What You Brung is £30 and they are able to set us up an autoshite class so we can race against each other. number of runs depends on how many atendees are at the even overall. fastest time of the day gets a trophy. so initial thought for me is turn up fri, camp then run sat and up the road. what do folks think? cheers"

AlabamaShrimp Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 So is the racing only on one day? If yeah what's the total cost just to come that car and drive your own car?
320touring Posted August 22, 2015 Author Posted August 22, 2015 So is the racing only on one day? If yeah what's the total cost just to come that car and drive your own car?15 to get in, 30 for rwyb, so 45 to turn up and run 5quid extra gets you camping prices herehttp://www.yorkraceway.org.uk/trackfees.html
skattrd Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I'm hoping the £30 is for as many runs as you can fit in and not per run up the strip.

320touring Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 will need to sort out the tickets and slots on Monday- not heard anything from them as yet
320touring Posted August 29, 2015 Author Posted August 29, 2015 Pay attention people- You can book your tickets and RWYB in advance, at this link:http://www.summermaddness.club/shop/ just to clarify, it is not York Raceway running this event- its this "Maddness" lot. As far as I can ascertain, you need to buy the ticket and RWYB off that lot, and pay for camping at the Track- but I'll double check that in the week:) Cheers
