Nah, I reckon you'll be changing the clutch and dmf before the gearbox mate.

the Dmf is an engineering solution to a question nae one ever asked!

waste of effing time in every car I've had with one.

I'm not worrying.

I have more of those gearboxes than a centipede could trip over.

"Where we're going we won't need gearboxes" Said Joe Cleland as he unveiled his jet powered 205

An experiment was carried out... with the front seats pushed into their most forward position and the headrests removed, the front seat backs will actually fold back level with the rear seat base (in the 3-doors anyway) - a bit of fine tuning should see a 6-footer like me able to lie completely flat without having to remove any seats.

Just spoken to the raceway-

we can arrive and camp after 6pm on the Fi 18th (£5 per person)

Admissionbto the event is £15

on Sat the Run What You Brung is £30 and they are able to set us up an autoshite class so we can race against each other. number of runs depends on how many atendees are at the even overall.

fastest time of the day gets a trophy.

so initial thought for me is turn up fri, camp then run sat and up the road.

what do folks think?

cheers

I wonder how well a Toledo 1300* would go round the track...

*Presuming it doesn't explode within 10 seconds of high intensity driving.

That sounds even worse for the Toledo tbh...It's currently struggling to go in a straight line!

The boy I spoke to said " do you mean stuff like cavaliers/montegos when you say Autoshite?"

I think we'll be welcome:)

You know what? This sounds kinda fun, and nowhere near as far/expensive as Santa Pod. Count me in, especially for the beer and camping bit. I'll be bringing the missus and a late-teen lout with me.

No idea what car though. TBC is probably the best thing I could say here, could be K series, could be cosworth, I dunno yet. See what hasn't exploded by september I reckon.

If camping allowed in your car then I may bring beerz and camp in the back of the car as it's estate it's all good .... For £50 squids I aint complaining for the day out!

Wonder if anyone else had thrown a xantia down a drag strip???

You may want to give them a call and check, but I cant see any issue.

well worth running the xantia!
