Idly perusing t'internet looking for some appropriately 'me' wheels for usage in Czech I stumbled upon a couple of tempting old barges that I'm sorely tempted to purchase.

Exhibit number one

A stunningly shitey R30 TX Auto in brown.

Now, should that not be oddball enough, this,

A quite possibly bed-riddenR30 TURBODIESEL has to be considered don't ya think?

Ok, it'll mean a trip to Germany but.... but.... no, just stop me. PLEASE!

sounds like a good idea to me  regret scrapping my y reg 30 turbo diesel i had 10 years ago but then i did use the running gear to build a 25 monaco turbo diesel as there were no RHD 25 diesels in the uk as far as i could work out

A dizzla R30 would be great! Go for it (or one like it)!The longer I spend on the (minor) welding repairs that my TS needs, the more money I'm saving on fuel!! (That's my excuse for the slow progress at least).Only problem for me is that the R30 really suits automatic transmission but I don't think there's an auto box with a suitable set of ratios for a diesel. Still - if economy's the name of the game then manual is the way to go anyhoo.

Have both :) Two Renaults are always better than one, unless they were built after about 1995 in which case they are rubbish plastic modern cars where you need two so as you can rob bits off one to keep the other working. And then invariably have to go to the main dealer anyway.

My advice is to keep buying shite cars until you run out of cash and credit

If this were a sensible website I would recommend a Skoda Superb, or at the very least an Octavia Laurin & Klement special edition, for luxury Czech motoring. Since this is Autoshite a pair of redundant 30 year old French motorised sofas are naturally perfect. Simply pick the one that has evidence of use this decade and start spending money on it!

Octavia td autos, great cars, we've got two, both ex taxis [198k miles, and 192k miles] 50 mpg aircon etc all still works, tuneable to 170 bhp [Revo] Only known fault are gearboxes usually explode at 200k, but fingers are crossed

What's going to happen to the one you've already got? :?

Caution! The silver Diesel one had been advertised for ages already, it must have stood there for half an eternity and there must be something VERY wrong with it since even German Renault enthusiasts don't seem to bite.

That's always puzzled me- why didn't Renault sell the 25 DT in the UK? About 10 years ago, I believe there was at least one specialist company using the bits from 21 TDs to make 25s, as they were hugely popular with mini cab firms.

I,ve got the workshop manuals for a TD 25,i,am sure i,ve seen one for sale on E-bay.

Hi,

as I said before I very much recommend the TD engine. Ok, if I change from the V6 turbo to my R25 TD it is quite hard to get used to the hammering sound under the bonnet. :) But it is Ok really.

The German 30 TD does not sell because it would cost us 900 Euros Tax per year. And yes, it has been on sale and sitting on that field for ages.

It seems like we have a similar taste of cars. I love this one. But I am sure that either you'd become very afraid of filling stations or in desparate need for one ... :D

I would not say it is overpriced at 2500 Euros! Have a go! :)

or be more sensible and buy this 20 turbo diesel for 200 Euros!
