Pappage de mon vélo

Thought I would take my camera whilst pedalling around Edmonton/Enfield this afternoon.

Not too much in evidence and I did miss a Daimler Dart going in the opposite direction.

This Audi has been sat on the drive for several years now and the paint is slowly fading to a lovely pogweasel.

Looks like a Mk 4 'Tina, has been living there for several years. Sorry I couldn't get closer.

My personal fave, not sure if petrol or diesel but it is a 2.0 litre anyway.

Another 75.

This was in the carpark by Halfrauds in Enfield. Sounded amazing. It is 6.3 litres and has been on show at the NEC on many occasions. The older chap driving it said he had stopped counting the spend at 40K.

Every time I go past it I can't help go yum.

I'm pretty sure I saw a 75 in that precious yellow colour parked somewhere near your lock up last Sunday...

There is a Trevi in Enfield.

It's on a drive, ready to be spotted.  In the garage is a Gamma Coupe.  Both T&T and regularly exercised.  Lovely.  Nice fella, too.

Enjoy the ride!

Ken - There are some great spots just the other side of the A406 (Tottenham side) including a one owner MK1 Cortina parked on the road, a 1 owner 1983 Volvo 240 and a battered 1980 MK2 escort with tank tape around the front wings.

Too bloody hot to venture anywhere today. More pappage soon hopefully as soon as the weather turns shite.

Ok, I risked heat stroke, death by sunshine today to venture out on the hostile streets of North London aka Shank Town/Edmonton.

Only I forgot my camera.

However, I did spot some interesting stuff along the backstreets and will take camera tomorrow to record the evidence.

First of all was a yellow and white Metropolitan which looked an absolute stunner, I did knock on the door but got no reply. Next up was a G reg white Metro which also looked rather tidy. Lastly was a beigey yellow Mk 3 'Tina. This was a 4 door N reg car with signs of wob in the front lower valance. There were signs that people were in so I ventured forth and spoke to the wife of the owner. Lovely Irish lady who was not keen for her hubby to keep the car. This was the last of 4 cars that he'd had and as far as she was concerned it may be up for sale at some point. The 'Tina is actually 'on the road' and would make a good running resto.

Certainly some interesting stuff around there. I need to have another look round one day as I always find some great spots in Tottenham / Edmonton.

Number one problem there (Tottenham) is walking round with a camera / phone / wallet etc etc...

The plan for today was to go down to the lock up and Triumph fettle. However, some cunt in a Bini Cuntryman parked right in front of the garage and declined to respond to my angry buzzing.

So I spent the last 3 hours cycling aimlessly round the many back streets of this fair town. When I say fair, I actually mean fucking shite.

Here you go:

This is about 2 minutes from my house and has been knocking around for at least 20 years in the same road. It doesn't actually look much different now, although I am not sure how much actual car there is and how much is filler.

I think this one belongs to the same person. The paintwork is pleasantly fading:

This is actually rather neat and tidy, albeit in dire need of a wash and tyre pump up:

This little beauty* was parked down one of the side streets and has four matching flat tyres and very rusty discs. It is also missing one exhaust tip. Astoundingly it is MOT'd still but only to the end of this month and taxed until 1st June 2016!!!! I immediately wanted it. Panels has much lacquer peel and paint fade but the hood and rear screen are intact:

This was across the road from the MG. Solid looking external panels, a tasty exhaust and a sense of shabby chic/patina. The paint was as flat as a witches tit:

Spent about 4 hours cycling round Enfield yesterday. Here are some cars:

The VW, tatty Rover and Trike are my fave's. The trike was a Ford V6 engined auto trans jobbie. It was very solid and well put together but very rat-look tatty. I would love to get hold of it.

Just out of interest:

VW 1955 car and 1192cc

Rover 1997 car, last MOT expired 24/3/2010

The interior of the Beetle looked totally original and non-restored. It even had trafficators in situ.

London's pretty much unbeatable for random spots. I love how some really flash looking houses have crap old cars clinging onto life outside them, and yet you can see some pretty rare/expensive looking cars just being used like a four year old Focus.

Love the red Cortina earlier on in the thread, keep them coming, please!

Will do mate. That 'Tina has been around for quite a few years now.

Can't believe how many streets I covered and how many I didn't know about. Cycling around the locality is a great thing. Good exercise too.
