JERKING WHILE LETTING OFF STEAM

This blasted Peugeot has a small problem which is doing my head in!

 

As you let your foot off the fun pedal and let the car naturally slow down, just as the revs get to about 1800rpm the little bugger "kangaroos" momentarily then continues to decelerate. It'll carry out this little party piece in every gear, each time at 1800rpm!

 

Any ideas before I torch it?

 

Had new fuel filter, gearbox doesn't whine or crunch, throttle body has been cleaned out etc...

Idle air control valve or MAP sensor.

I vote idle control valve too, clean it out with some carb cleaner.

MAP sensor is the usual culprit on those. You'll need a torx bit to remove it from the manifold, a good clean with some carb spray should be enough to make it work again.

 

I should also take the opportunity to say that sporting 106s are fantastic, just make sure you never lift off in the wet...
