Boats hits. Is this worth anything?

Funnily enough I know of at least one recent(ish) case of a boat owner being found dead in the bilge. Story goes that there was money owed and the unfortunate individual hid down there to avoid debt collectors. He must have become trapped and asphyxiated. It was quite a while later that he was found...

So it does happen...

But don't have nightmares.

Thanks for that, interesting.

Looks like I'll be completing later today so that plastic lump will be sitting in my nettle bed tonight.

Sadly I'm nowhere near to get over and strim, for the foreseeable!

I've a pile of important jobs to do first, secure boundaries, plant some screening, lay a track or two, stick in planning, build a shed etc etc

I'll try to find time to check for engines, condition, interior , bodies in the bilge ( thanks Joe!) and wing some pics up. If it's sensible, and save able, I'll cover it up.

More pics soon

If you've never owned a boat, the experience can be simulated at home:

Stand in a cold shower in the most expensive clothes you own. Tear up £20 notes as fast as you can.

Had boatees in the past, ranging from a Shetland Black Prince through some old Jaguars to a couple of Benetteaus.

Sadly, time etc etc etc.

If I get a few spare hours, I've found quicker ways of ' relaxing' now.

It's basically worth the value of the engines, and that's hard to pin down without having them up & running. Sadly the world is full of "faded glory" boats that have been high & dry for years and would cost far more to get seaworthy than they would ever be worth.

There are only so many dreamers prepared to take on a project like this - the concept of "Boatshite" doesn't really exist due to the high costs involved.

The trailer, however... ;)

Basically what I was going to say! Mooring costs are usually high too so you'll probably be trailering it and will need a place to store it. (BOAT - Break Open Another Thousand)

As boaty-type friends of mine say:

Q: What is a boat?

A: A large hole in the water into which you throw largew amounts of money.

Off topic......but I love the enduring rivalry/hatred between types of boat owners.........
