Best car in the (real) world?

Two cars for 'er.

The car we've kicked ourselves countless times because we sold it on would be the 940 Diesel estate, SWMBO sorely missed that old bus.

However she now has a new hero, she runs the H6 Outback we bought last year for stupidly cheap, it's LPG'd so she can drive it any way she likes, dream of an auto box, goes like hell and sticks like shit to a blanket no matter what the roads are like, has been totally reliable and a pleasure to work on apart from sparky plugs which are 3 hours plus lying on your back ripping the backs of your hands and wrists to shreds...we're popping out late morning to swap it back cos daughter borrowed it to do a French booze run yesterday, she's now a fan too, the days of her Aygo are numbered.

One car for me, old school auto box Landcruiser without the fancy air/hydraulic suspension and associated electric crap,  does what it says on the tin.

I agree about the scenic, but when it was weighed in I replaced it with a grand voyager which is even better.

Mine is probably the Mégane II. And I know nobody will agree. I got my 2003 2.0 16v Dynamique loaded with options when it was five years old at 58k miles. It was retired after three years and sitting at 92k and nothing has ever come close as a complete all rounder and doing everything so well.

Yes... You've found the only happy Mégane II owner haha.

Credible motoring hack (if we ignore all the Top Gear challenges stuff) James May wrote this in 2005:

Where he declares an AX GT as the best all round car in the world. Minus points for him depicting merchant bankers as trustworthy professionals able to validate this but having owned an AX GT, I agree with much that he says. But apart from using a smidge less fuel, the Visa GTi does all the stuff he describes better.

So in conclusion, this is the best car in the world. Sorry about that.
