DodgyBastard Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 We did joke about taking some pics with a roller in my hand but not everything needs to be painted by hand. It's a cracking colour anyway. trigger 1
DodgyBastard Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 After driving over 900 miles at the weekend I have to say the Alto is fucking great. I love it so much I sold the starlet and it can be my small fun Jap car instead. It's not as fast as the starlet but it's just so much nicer in every way. Now I will try and buy no more cars, it's getting hard to resist but we all know there will be something new in my driveway within a month... I'm thinking about replacing the Tata with some kind of camper after seeing mat the cats at shitefest. I've been on the lookout for Bedford cf's, sherpas and shite like that. The only issue is nobody will buy the tata so i'll end up having to keep that too... Lacquer Peel and Skizzer 2
DodgyBastard Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 How much would you like for the TATA? Too much probably. It loves veg. It really depends on if i can find a camper or suitable van at a reasonable price but I'd be looking in the region of £450 for it.

DodgyBastard Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 It was a lovely day today so I spent some time looking at old shite cars and pigs... DSC_0512 by srblythe, on Flickr Ok so not all of them were old... DSC_0531 by srblythe, on Flickr But it was all definitely shite. The car in question is this! DSC_0439 by srblythe, on Flickr We had to push it. DSC_0478 by srblythe, on Flickr And now it's ready to go! DodgyBastard Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 So after a long day of looking at old shite I came back to the unit to find this outside... DSC_0578 by srblythe, on Flickr Meaning we now have a ramp! Lacquer Peel, oldcars, mouseflakes and 3 others 6
Mr_Bo11ox Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 You're living the flippin dream you are FOAD. Respect!!!!! DodgyBastard and billyboy406v6 2
DodgyBastard Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 Got the ramp moved inside, still no sign of the lada though. I had planned to use the tata to a-frame the lada yesterday but was talked out of it by Mrs foad and nisfan who argued that I'd get pulled because the lada was untaxed, mot'd and uninsured. I thought the chances of that were slim but we agreed that the owner of the field of shite could do it. Of course it's now been put off until tomorrow meaning I have to waste another day at the unit.I wanted to go see the penguin parade at the zoo... Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
Richard Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I've seen the penguin parade. I don't think their hearts are in it tbh. ShiteRider, anonymous user, cms206 and 2 others 5
dollywobbler Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Astonishing. I want that VW LT bus thing! Oh, and the little wee thing, whatever that is. Mrs DW wants it too. I love cars that are only just wider than the number plate.

I love cars that are only just wider than the number plate. That small car thing is for sale, the owner has a brain tumour and is selling all his stuff before travelling around Italy in a sprinter. Any interest at £1000? No? There's also a 940 estate going cheap. It's a 2.3 turbo manual. Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
Jon Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 That's a real shame about the owner having to sell for health reasons but kudos for him making the call and selling up to go have an adventure. If this is the same collosal field of dreams you've papped in the past, I'd love to register an interest in any usable bits off the white Visa GTi he has/had there. I know he wasn't willing to split for parts before (NZ's a little far to ship a whole parts car....) but if he'd be willing to swap bits for cash, I'd be a happy man. Most likely looking at trim bits etc as I'm guessing most of the rest of it is toast. And a unit with a ramp is truly living the dream! oldcars 1
DodgyBastard Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 Just to clarify, the owner of that small car thing isn't the owner of the field of dreams but is a local guy who has left some of his stuff on their land. The main shite hoarder is difficult to deal with but his brothers are a bit easier going. Can you post a pic of the visa you're referring to? Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
oldcars Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Great photos, loving the caravanshite too. Could you modify any to fit in the back of the Tata?
DodgyBastard Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 I finally used some of the camping stuff I bought for shitefest... DSC_0582 by srblythe, on Flickr and took a late night drive to a Suzuki garage. DSC_0616 by srblythe, on Flickr Out of all of the other garages in the area this one didn't have any illuminated signs which was a bit disappointing...
DodgyBastard Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 Just had word from the field of shite, the lada won't be coming today because it's too hot outside. I'm beginning to wish I'd taken a chance A-framing it. Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

DodgyBastard Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 Tried some more svo in the tata, seems to run ok. Now need to get my hands on some wvo... Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
Lacquer Peel Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I got some WVO leads by posting a wanted ad on gumtree, picking up 200 litres tomorrow. It's not my favourite price but it's still much cheaper than diesel and new oil.
cort16 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 It doesn't look too bad in the pictures. I take it the bump took it off the road originally rather than grot?
DodgyBastard Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 I've no idea, he seemed to buy crash damaged ones so I don't know if it was like that by the time it got there or what happened. I had a look underneath from the rear when it was on the truck and it's looking no too bad. It needs new floor and sills in places but nowhere near the fso's level of rust.
