DodgyBastard Posted May 9, 2015 Author Posted May 9, 2015 I've done around 120 miles so far and only overheated once! for some reason the fan didn't come on and it boiled coolant everywhere. I topped it up and took it for a drive then stopped with the engine still running, the temp crept up to 90 then the fan came on so it's apparently fixed itself. Maybe the coolant had been low to begin with, I didn't really check when I got the car a couple of weeks ago. It needs some chunky tyres to really pull off the alloys but I'm happy with how it sits on the new wheels. Not bad for £30... oldcars and Lacquer Peel 2
JohnK Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 That's the first Panda I've looked at and thought 'it looks alrite that'. Like the Volvo as well.

oldcars Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Nice motors, loving the MK1 Reliant Robin. Sure i saw it on Ebay for sale in Aberdeen, has it just been bought or was it a journey down?

DodgyBastard Posted May 17, 2015 Author Posted May 17, 2015 Removed the Rallye style vinyl from the 309... DSC_9284 by srblythe, on Flickr It removed some paint when taking it off the grille so I painted it black DSC_9283 by srblythe, on Flickr I'm not sure to be honest. I think I'd like a phase 1 grille instead in either white or black. oldcars 1
captain_70s Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Nice motors, loving the MK1 Reliant Robin. Sure i saw it on Ebay for sale in Aberdeen, has it just been bought or was it a journey down?It was for sale in Aberdeen as an unfinished project last year, was then bought by the PO of my Dolly 1850 and he got it back on the road as something a bit more economical than his daily driver Reliant Scimitar. He's moving down to Leeds though so had to downsize to one car, he misses it so much he's on the hunt for another! oldcars 1

DodgyBastard Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 this looks soooo right. Now sold, the fleet is reducing... I fitted the original wheels to the panda, those alloys seemed to be too wide or the offset was too low causing the rears to rub slightly going over big bumps, Also the lower profile tyres didn't do much for comfort. DSC_9919 by srblythe, on Flickr DSC_9913 by srblythe, on Flickr I'm not quite sure why I sold the 309, it was economical and reliable but I just didn't like it enough to want to drive it that much. I loved the look of it but just thought it would be best going to someone who would appreciate it as it had been relegated to the back of the drive. That's me and mrs foad down to 2 cars each. I have the Panda and the Proton and she has the Tata and the Volvo... oldcars, loserone and Skizzer 3
dome Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Panda looks cool, I'd love a 4x4 after seeing loads of them in Italy when I was there on holiday. What ever happened to the Alfa?
cort16 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 This thread would look so much better with a gold Peugeot 305 in it. skattrd and Lacquer Peel 2
DodgyBastard Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Panda looks cool, I'd love a 4x4 after seeing loads of them in Italy when I was there on holiday. What ever happened to the Alfa? The alfa is enjoying the fine Scottish weather outside our new unit, can't really count it as a fleet car because I can't drive it. It really has started to rust in front of my eyes. I want it away but the guy who part owns it thinks it will be worth tons when the paperwork is sorted out. I can't really see it.I've been offered £500 for it as it is.

DodgyBastard Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 It's funny, every time I look into buying big diesel Peugeot estates I end up with something small and Japanese. Last year I went to look at a 405 and ended up with a proton. Yesterday I provisionally put my name down for the Shitpeas 305 only to be swayed at the last minute by something small and Japanese. Collection thread imminent...
