carlo Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Has anyone any experience of these, earliest model preferably due to budget (and automatic of course)? It's a car I'd never thought of before but seems to tick a lot of my boxes i.e. smallish saloon, well speced, nice interior, bit of poke and a sunroof/cruise. A nice looking local one, bit salty I know http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201503021352196/sort/locasc/radius/1500/model/is_200/usedcars/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/make/lexus/quicksearch/true/page/1/postcode/pl210nf?logcode=p
Cavcraft Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 My neighbour had one and loved it. Until the fuel costs nearly caused him to go bankrupt, something I've heard from other owners. saucedoctor 1
Lacquer Peel Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 They're not great on fuel, no, but they're a really nice drive. I would go for an IS300, it's much quicker but no thirstier. Honey Badger and dugong 2
dave21478 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Not all that fast either. Certainly no slouch, but not what I would call fast. - Its performance never justified the fuel it used. On the other hand, incredibly smooth, quiet, comfortable and refined. dugong 1
sierraman Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Values can't be much, there's one sat outside my local its been there about 18 months, flat tyres and lot. It's even on google earth now.
saucedoctor Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I know a chap who had one. As others have said it was pretty thirsty, and my pal said it was "fucking undriveable in snow". ISTR the aircon had a fault which caused the engine to overheat as well. He got a Rover 75 2.0 V6 instead. EssDeeWon 1
Bren Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Thirsty, slow (144 bhp is shit), alloys shed paint like dandruff. I don't see the point really. Lord Sterling 1
Rusty_Rocket Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 "It's like a Japanese Mercedes" srad34, willswitchengage, EssDeeWon and 1 other 4
willswitchengage Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 The estate is a bit pointless as the boot is tiny compared to its German rivals. Bit more powerful than a comparable E46 but obviously quite thirsty (straight six!). Cheap as they're not 'cool', but who comes first in the JD Power survey every year? Look at an LS400 instead - they go for peanuts saucedoctor 1
