beko1987 Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Steering a rover 75 with water pump pliers whilst sitting on the floor pan was certainly an experience! Added sweat factor as I had to avoid the Triumph Herald alongside! richardmorris and Bucketeer 2
Six-cylinder Posted March 30, 2018 Author Posted March 30, 2018 Mmmm that is a lovely Xantia. Is that your V6 one or another one? It is ours but needs a gearbox.
Split_Pin Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 That's a brilliant mental image of the 75 driving position!
beko1987 Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 That's a brilliant mental image of the 75 driving position!Ill take a picture of the view tomorrow! Turning hard lock was fun, I had to reposition the grips when they hit the a pillar! Split_Pin 1
purplebargeken Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Yeah, he has the latest one but there have been a couple prior to that and the reg looks a bit familiar, but I could well be wrong Split_Pin 1
Fat_Pirate Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 I regret to inform you that it was yours, Ken. This is a better way to go than just getting fragged, which was nearly it's fate though.
purplebargeken Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Ah, thought I recognised the reg. Glad it's been put to some use though
beko1987 Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Even I want to have a fiddle and have something off it for the gooner so don't sorry Ken, it's kept/keeping many others going!
Mr_Bo11ox Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Slight change of plan at this end -Bramz is dropping off the Stilo here this morning, a combo of this and absolutely appalling weather means I am probably not gonna be at the FOD today after all The Reverend Bluejeans 1
beko1987 Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Boooo I'm leaving now, see you at yours in a bit Chris

Chrissakes.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 I'm on a 5-day weekend. Medium-heavy rain forecast every single fucking day.
purplebargeken Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Sadly no mooching due to others things that I must do. Shitty weather isn't helping either. Happy spannering guys.

beko1987 Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 When the sun was out it was beautiful! Even the rain stopped lasting very long in the afternoon. We got quite a lot done. Most important is that I have 2 rear arms, the bolts that go with them and rear springs (just in case) for Mr Split Pin. I'll get them boxed up and Pm sent in the week. I took a few pics I thought Rover 75s were supposed to be executive wafters.... Didn't think much of the seats it must be said Did some rust fixing And now I'm home and showered and hungry! Great day in the sleepy field. Split_Pin, Mrs6C, Dirk Diggler and 8 others 11
Split_Pin Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Flipping heck Beko, thanks so much, really really appreciate that. Chris and yourself will have a PM when I get home re Paypal details. DVee8, beko1987 and 320touring 3
beko1987 Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 No worries. Very easy actually! Only way I differed from the instructions was to undo all the hub end then back under and lift the arm up which changed the angle of the loose inner bolt so it came out the hole! Id be amazed if the postage is more than £15 for parcelforce 24h, I've posted heavier vacuums for the same price. Will get it boxed up one lunchtime in the week for you, send me your address whenever! Both arms are mintola, just a little bit of road dirt on them DVee8 1
Split_Pin Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Fantastic, thanks again for this, crap weather for it too! Cheers also to Chris for the bargain. beko1987 1
richardmorris Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 IMG_20180331_143233151_HDR.jpg That’s like a Monet or Pisaro.
GoGently Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Thanks for the bits Chris . Did the teaspoon screwdriver shot come out? Operation Visa one FINE day. . . .
Six-cylinder Posted March 31, 2018 Author Posted March 31, 2018 At least it was not solid rain just showers! The main event was to remove the 75 rear arms for Split_Pin and Beko lay under the car for some time and worked hard and achieved this. A friend of GoGently wanted some 75 bits but had to leave early so the Silver Team had to take the alternator off the 75. Split_Pin, richardmorris, Fat_Pirate and 5 others 8
Six-cylinder Posted March 31, 2018 Author Posted March 31, 2018 Mrs6C had requested we free the stuck rear brake on our red herald 13/60 convertible so it could be moved away from the barn to get some hay out and the Silver Team took charge of this with success. Problem was the other rear wheel was also stuck since the last time we moved it so it all had to be done for a second time. Not only did we free the brakes but we also moved the car to a new parking spot with so many helpers. egg, Coprolalia, Mrs6C and 1 other 4
