Short wave wasnt it? I have vague hazy recollections of hearing it sometime in the 80's.

Never heard it and only learnt about it recently. Russian over the horizon radar. When you see how close it is to Chernobyl you appreciate its position as I suspect it needed quite a bit of power to run.

 

Briefly returning to topic, I use a Roberts solar dab in my Freelander, plugged into the aux in plug. The AM receiver has broken (they all do it).
