MOAR shite wanted: commercial grot!

A friend of mine has asked to procure some sort of commercial vehicle for him. Basic requirements are:- large enough to carry a quad-bike- Umm, that's about it. Said friend is currently driving a Megane convertible, so I assume anything desperately slow wouldn't go down too well. Initially he said a nissan cabstar, but obv they all go for export. So anything considered, van or pick-up. Oh and must MUST be less than £500 with as much MoT as possible. Moon on a stick?

Golf Caddy might be ok, but finding one that's not either knackered or £1000 too expensive wid da rat look could be tricky. How about one of those little Skoda pickups? I think they did them in yellow with wheelarches from that Rover Streetwise :? My google-fu says it's called the Skoda-Felicia-Fun. Ho ho ho  As anything 4x4 with an engine bigger than 2 litres is worth £50 nowadays perhaps a 2 year old Jeep Cherokee? :)

Er... How big actually is a quadbike? Will it fit in, say, an Escort or Astra (or Maestro etc...) van, or would a Transit-sized jobbie be required?

I'd go along with the LDV 200/Pilot suggestion. I think one of those would give you the best chance of something decent for £400.They aren't big though.

Renault Espace or Toyota Townace? You can get most things in the back of them and ideal for dogging.

My local scrapman has a Tata Loadbeta... it's a Y plate and there's proper rust holes through the bodywork. Not just bubbly paint, you can actually see through the rear flap and the outer rear wings. GR8 FOR OXYDYZING.

Erm, would a Quad go in the back of an Escort van?

£395 Classified, MoT till August 09

This is bigger, and shonkier.

Bidding at £102 with a day left. I imagine it's about as fast as snorkelling through treacle though.

Every transit on the bay is knackered and overpriced, the only classified I found below £500 was for an ex-BT one with frilly wings and doors, hardly any MoT and a knackered interior.

Just as an aside, whilst looking through the bay I found this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RENAULT-MASTER-RA ... 0309019096

Thought the idea of a 'Renault Master Race' was quite scary, like 1930s Nazi Germany but with badly-built transportation.

The bike might go in, but actually riding it up a ramp into the back would be funny, in a decapitating kinda way. Same for getting it out again.

Ho ho ho  You won't get a decent Skoda Fun pick up for less than £2k, they're extremely sought after...................Great little cars, only 600 made for UK market

I just got out of the bath in a 'EUREKA!!!'-type fashion to post this...
