Was it paid for in cash or goat sacrifices?

What's the collective noun for a bunch of rank Volvaults? Winners, all.

I take it the Renault engine's the one from the 5? I know from experience, that if it's got a crank sensor and won't run, said sensor is the prime suspect. Shouldn't be too hard to get to on that, surely?

That looks remarkably solid.

It's not as solid as it looks, in the top picture you can see a big chunk missing from the driver's doorstep and I imagine most of the underside is pretty frilly. It's been sitting there since the early 90s though, so it's not doing too badly.

I think it all went tits up for the owners when the house, which they were in the process of renovating, burned down on a Christmas day. There's an old caravan there that they must have lived in for a while but it looks as if they walked away from the whole sorry situation quite some time ago.

That may well come in handy... probably trim more than anything.

Crank sensor, coil and more HT leads coming, should be here by Wednesday.

I say more HT leads as the leads I got from Dingbro are an 80% success... as the king lead is RONG. Arses.

That's a pretty early one - with the quarter lights and 34'5' badging...

They're nowhere near as heavy as people think, a 5 door 1.4 is only circa 1050kg. 5 speed box is a good swap as the one fitted to 1.4's came with a shorter final drive ratio, which was quite well matched in order to get the most out of the engine.

Have a look at 300 mania if you're stuck with anything - there's a shedload of info on there

EDITED:
Later cars did indeed have electronic Renix ignition triggered by a sensor on the bellhousing but this being early may still be points and condenser

Is there anything specifically you know you need?

Last time I stripped everything off but I don't have the space, so will only be keeping things people want/I want for my next 340.

Off the top of my head, a set of decent boot rams, a parcel shelf, a drivers seat back depending on what trim it is, a drivers door card, front door catches & mechanisms, a lockset and an offside rear passenger door for starters. I'll have it up to the workshop tonight (on tow, still not running) so will try to catalogue what I actually need.

Both boot rams are buggered, doesn't appear to be a parcel shelf, all doors are knackered but should be able to help with everything else. The seat trim is this -

Probably shittest picture ever but they're white/grey with black spots.

Not needing to sell just yet just to know what you need so I can take it off and set it aside before I scrap it.

richard, is that the house in pitlochry? If not its weirdly similar, burntdown house with a caravan and a 340 outside.

The 340 is now at my place of work, in the corner next to the gaffer's dead Rover collection. The 940 made very light work of dragging its sorry blue arse up there and the run appears to have freed the brakes up nicely.

This one is a few miles outside Ullapool. My friend took more pictures when he spotted it https://www.flickr.com/photos/urbexplore/sets/72157626276900863/detail/

I thought the place name sounded familiar. My family on my mum's side were from Ullapool and my grandad used to work on the big estate this house is on. It used to be owned by a Harley St doctor. Was just Speaking to my dad and he said they were once invited out to dinner at this very house - small world eh!

Nah, different from mine... I reckon mine is patchable anyway.

Sent you a PM over on the V3M pages, if the radiator is watertight and available I could do with that too. I'm in Glasgow and armed with a 940 estate so happy to come through to collect stuff.

**EDIT** do the wipers work? Think mine has siezed solid. Also dizzy/coil/king lead from a working car would be GR12 to see if I can get a tune out of this little blue bastard!

Just checked and can't see a pm on V3M.

The radiator is buggered but I still have a radiator from my old 1.7, it is pretty much brand new but has some bent fins due to piling crap on top of it, I think it'll still work though, it's free considering the condition.

I'm not sure if the wipers work but again I think I have a wiper motor from my 1.7.

Not sure regarding pm but feel free to shoot me another.

The 940 still isn't talking to the 340...

Over the pit; underside is remarkably sound, tame welder was extremely surprised. Also forgot how narrow the track was on 340s...

Because Eindhoven ;-) Be grateful that they didn't use the transverse leaf spring front suspension from the 33/44s...
