Hey all,

 

I had no plans to purhcase this car but when another autoshite member offered it up for £20 I paid there and then. It has early stages of head gasket failure but should be an easy fix. Plans are are a few cosmetic mods, bosch fuel pump, intercooler and the boost tweaked a little

When and where did they offer it up?  I don't recall it appearing on here.  Just asking as I've got a 205TD with a healthy engine but a shonky bodyshell...

It's a stunning buy, I must say. I'm envious of the purchase but getting well fucked off with the assumption that the Faceache page is the be all and end all.

Rather than going to the effort of fixing the HGF, converting it to a Bosch fuel pump, adding intercooler and all that shiz, I propose the following:

Win a mouldy green 306 TD for £62, fail to be informed by the the seller where it is, go and A-frame it home anyway (from Rochdale behind the ailing 205), bung the veg-friendly 1.9 TDIntercooled lump in yours, fill with WVO, turn up the fueling, and WIN!

'Twas on the Book of Faeces "AutoShite" page, which (despite being initially offered as a replacement for this Beige Forum during downtime, apparently...) seems to be the public face of AutoShite nowadays (mention "the AutoShite forum" to people and they say inevitable reply "on Facebook?" ).

 

People seem to be most surprised to hear that The Beige Forum is here, and many don't seem to want to sign up from personal experience - but I guess that's fallout from "the farcebook generation" thing nowadays ...

 

FarcesBook is "convenient" - with some familiar faces on the AS page on there - but it's not a patch on here in so so many regards...
