There's a book that has them all, you might be better asking on a Ford forum as quite a lot of people have them.

Hello, as an ex Ford parts man from back in the 60's and 70's  I still can remember quite a few part numbers although they are getting a bit vague now as time go's on.

Thought this might help.

Middle of part number covers                    Example                                     Description

200's are  Brakes and components    --    2400E 2261                               Rear wheel cylinder

300's  --  steering -------------------      --      2400E 3289                               Track rod end

400's  --  rear axle ------------------      --      2400E 4200                                Diff Assembly

500's  --  rear springs  -------------      --      2400E (5560A)                           Rear spring assembly

600's  --  engine ---------------------     --      2400E 6102                                Piston assembly

700's  --  gearbox, clutch etc -----     --      2400E 7563                                Pressure plate

800's  --  cooling system -----------    --      2400E 8005                                Radiator assembly

900's  --  fuel system ----------------   --       2400E 9350                                Fuel pump assembly

1000's  --  electrical system -------   --       2400E 13450                              Number plate lamp

                                                                 Breakdown from above

Your prefix denotes model  (2400E)  as an example is for the ford transit.

( 5560A)  rear road spring. - all ford models cars or commercials are 5560 for rear road springs. prefix denotes the model.

Followed by a suffix - A,B.C ETC denotes application and year.
