Ugly Cars Or Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder...

Wasn't that just a rebadged Dacia Diarrhoea?

BX estate anyone? Don't get me wrong, I loved my batchhacks but for me there's something of the "meh, can't be bothered to design a proper estate, just stick a box on the back and then we can go drink wine." about them

Perhaps it was expected of Citroën that they should have different rear doors and a longer wheelbase, as with the CX? Lowering their standards to the industry norm so as not to bankrupt their new masters, Peugoet, they still produced an estate car which was miles better than the rest, on account of the spheres and LHM.

The new 'face' of Lexus is horrific, although IMHO the only good looking Lexus was the first IS200. Toyota going the wrong way as well, judging by the new Aygo and Yaris.

Mercs lost all European styling in the 2000s, I think, in an effort to win sales in China.

I would go as far as saying these have the worst styling ever to come from a mainstream manufacturer. There is not a single detail that works on them. Thankfully they seem to be starting to die out already.

This one is also displaying the trend for power fold mirrors that are just as wide when folded.

The train world hardly escaped either. This was the prototype HST, its derivative still comprising the majority of the East Coast, Midland and Great Western main line's fleets.

i disagree about the hst. The prototype was minging - just like the apt one - but the production hst and ast were and are still cool. I love the design.

I had a late spec facelift Scorpio Ultima. I actually quite liked it. Got very bored very quickly of people saying "Didn't sell well these because they're ugly". I thought the last of them looked ok. Better than a Dame Edna Avensis.

Don't get the appeal of a DS.

Think most Bangle BMW saloons are hideous.

You're all doing it wrong!

Lots of stuff here looks like something Clarkson knocked up in the Top Gear barn.

Looking at some of the newer hatchbacks I'm thinking that maybe they were designed by the same people who design modern vacuum cleaners.

Driving behind a fairly new BMW recently I was struck by the way the rear end looked like it's already been shunted, looking around I notice most of them look the same. Anyone else?

This might just be my damaged mind but all these strings of led running lights remind me of anal beads.

The nice thing about a Bristol is that when you're in it,  you don't have to look at it; they are mainly cars for driving not looking at.

I agree, but when you look at how they used to look, it's some come-down.

Bristols are are beautiful, just in their own unique way...

In answer to an earlier post, the Mk4 Zodiac is one of my favourite looking cars of all time. Would love to have one.

Here's another one - I don't understand why so many people seem to have it in for the Marina, looks-wise. I think they look class in Mk1 form.

I like the Marina coupé to look at, I just wish they hadn't been mean and put longer doors on it.

I think there may be a problem with that particular trailer and vehicle combination.

Shhhh. Don't tell anyone but the back third was a flat bed.
