Fibreglass-tastic.

Those were the days I should have had shares in TSW.

All this plastic reminds me of when I bought a stolen recovered Cossie lookalike ,it was a 1.6 3 door with a 2.0 efi in it and a bodykit made of the lumpiest most brittle plastic you've ever see . It took about 5 kg of fibreglass and wob to make it look ok in the tiny b&w Autotrader picture. The guy that bought it didn't even drive it he took one look at it and handed over the dosh. The bodykit started cracking as he drove down the street, I saw it about a month later and someone had nicked the bumper, bonnet and whale tail, I bet they were seriously pissed off when they saw them in daylight.

Mynheer! Their Rover body kits were bloody gopping.

Seeing those took me back mentally even further to the early 90s, when Astra GTEs with whale tails and Fat Boy Vitaras were all the rage. Not to mention Rude Mercs, who would fit a wonky SEC bonnet to your 190.

I always think about writing to all the advertisers asking for a brochure about the carflair escort van kit etc or a Alfa 145 test drive or whatever and see if I ever got any responses. I don't know why I wanna so that.

There are quite a few shonky looking w124 coupés around with those SEC-type bonnets.

Rude Mercs on Cambridge Heath road in NE London used to do a lot of yardie cars, w124s painted black, yellow and green (Jamaican flag colours) fitted various bodykits, ducktail spoilers, fibreglass bumpers and wide flared AMG front wings and sill skirts.

And now Rude Mercs is no more, what lives on in its place? RUDE FIGAROS. FFS a Nissan figaro specialist!

I remember those ads for the mk5 Escort van body kits and I'm going to be honest and say that in a different colour and minus the 2 Escort hatch spoilers plonked on the roof I think it'd look quite good, always liked the 1 piece rear door too.

TSW Venoms are still as horrendous as I remember them too, like has been said this reminds me of Vitara Fat Boy kits as well as Skeete kitted mk2 Golfs with single wiper kits.

Excusing scene dubs and ratlook, modified cars have become a lot more tasteful now people are doing their cars up with oem parts or subtle changes, the having a different look to your car for the sake of it look has slowly died out thank christ. I'd much rather someone made their Corsa into a VXR rep or their Golf into a GTi rep then added a stupid aftermarket body kit because making your car into something it isn't which looks good is surely always better than making it into something it is but looks hideous.
