Hi Everybody

A while ago I applied for space on behalf of Autoshite at The Footman James Manchester Classic Car Show 20-21 September 2014 ,Great News...We are IN!!

We have a stand for 4 cars (over 20 Years old would be good)

What happens is a bit like the NEC one would need to bring Your car on Friday 19th 9am -7pm  and leave it there until 5pm Sunday 21st  anybody displaying a car will get 2 wristbands for free entry to the show on both days .

I Displayed my 214 on the 200/400 stand last year and thought it was ace ,The Chair of the ACI Says it is like the Nec but without the faff.

The show is based in Events City Opp Trafford Ctr next to ASDA M41 7TB

If anybody wants to display a Car the please PM ME

Matt

Nice work! Hope we can get a decent load of ol' shite. Would be nice to get a mix of ratty heaps and immaculate 'crap' cars.

Was a good show last year, I will most probably be there with the 924 OC. Would be great to see an AS stand there!

Is anybody up for showing their car at this event? It is, after all, an opportunity to show some of our cars at a high profile 'national' event.

And moderators, would it be possible to move this thread to the "events" forum please? :)

I've sent Matt (the OP) a message on farces-book :) .

No-one else interested in this one? I have other commitments but hope to make the show. I want to see old shite!

Posted

If it makes it that far.

It transported all the shite off the unfixable Merc from the yard and back several times, did it not?

I'd come along as moral support (i.e. I don't have a car) but I'm in London that weekend. Arse!

I'd be happy to bring the P6 for the Autoshite/Autoshambles stand!

Excellent :) , I'll message Matt (the OP) on farcebook again...

I think CMS206 should be made to bring the council estate down :)

If you're desperate for exhibits I could possibly bring the Cherry,  might be trying to borrow one of the locals sofas for a night or two if I do though.

COUNCIL ESTATE DELIVERY SERVICE AVAILABLE.

It was a Practial Classics staff car and it's not been washed since January, I could arrange this...

I believe there is one space left on the stand, if anyone wants to show their car? Of course, this includes free entry to the show for the driver and (I think?) at least one passenger as well.

On of the UK's biggest Car Shows ,and only 1 person Intrested ,I cannot understand this at all ,Feel I have wasted my Time and Money  ,I am very unhappy

Disappointing. If I wasn't triple booked that weekend, I'd definitely be interested. Come on folks!

I will make a public apology at having to cancel going as I forgot it's my wedding anniversary on the 19th. Got moaned at already for not consulting :-(

Well, i'm busy that weekend so can't do it.

Also, I was a trader there last year and whilst it was ok it wasn't one of the biggest / best shows out there by any means. Give it five years and it'll probably be a decent show. I'm around on the Saturday so might pop in regardless, hopefully they've made it cheaper for people to get in than last year.

I know of a few clubs who actively boycott that show as a few people were pretty unhappy about how it all started but that's their business. Shame though all the same.

I'm hoping that CAP run their classic show there next spring, it works a lot better as a season opening show rather than trying to be a Northern NEC only six or seven weeks before the NEC which is a superb end of season show for a reason.

I do think September is an odd time for an indoor show. Practical Classics seem to be after the season-starter crown with their Restoration Show at the NEC. It was excellent this year. Mind you, that was April I think, and the previous day I'd been outside at Pride of Longbridge.
