Dangerously hot Italian contents

I spent most of last week undressing a beautiful Italian model and fondling with her bits.

Engine will turn over and fire, but not run. Uh oh I thought, then realised the fuel tank was completely empty. Okay. Good. Engine is fine.

Interior stripped. Henry hoover for scale.

The interior is complete and fully functional, but the dash is disintegrating. Thankfully there is enough of it left so let us remake it from builders foam and vinyl.

Italian wiring. Uh oh spaghettios.

Just another shot of the engine.

More pics of the interior.

Final pics are the only sections of rot on the car. All repairable and not that bad, which is good because actual repair panels for this are completely non-existent.

Vehicle is complete and very easy to work on. Engine drops out the front complete with the front subframe. FWD so no faffing about with rear diffs. Very nice braking system. Gorgeous smooth flat four boxer engine.

Will be getting a complete overhaul, repaint, new red leather interior, new headlining, new everything.

The only downside is I'll want to keep it once it's complete.

That would be a massive problem for me too I think!

This is one of the best looking cars of all time, i would love one so much. Might trade the 404 in for one when the time comes. Please keep it grey, just pick one of the shades on the horrible two tone job. Lovely stuff.

True story; it was taken off the road by the previous owner because the brake servo had completely failed. The servo connects the entire system together, the servo itself acts as a central hub and is approximately £1200 to repair. It has to be sent to the only company in the country with a purpose built Lancia brake system test and repair bench built to the original factory specifications.

When I learned how much it costs to repair it, no wonder he took it off the road.

The car was originally not two-tone, that was done later and a bit slap-dash to be honest. Probably going to go with a flat grey or flat silver. Metallic would just look wrong.

When you showed me photographs of the rust I was expecting far more horrors than there appear to be.  Looks pretty good at the moment.

So do you have a plan for the servo?

I thought it looked complicated in the photos, seems rather long.  Is it really as complicated as they make out or not?

Fine looking car though.  Good luck with it.

And quite frankly, you should call the only* company in this country that can repair a 1960s brake booster, which is barely more complex than a hayfork, for 1200 quid, and tell them exactly where they can shove it and how far up.

Would be happy to do it on your behalf, if you gave me their number.
