Eye-catching black and whites

Possibly a wartime picture - the VD posters were a feature of WW2 information and propaganda.

The Riley rear bumper may have go for the war effort - some evidence of white paint applied to the body edges.

Camden Road. The car looks like a Riley Falcon, sans rear bumper, to me. Probably late '30's. What's the VD poster all about? Health advice or some sort of unfortunately named vinegar'n'dill consommé  popular back then?

I used to park there sometimes when I was working on Piccadilly Circus at Tower Records and The Criterion building when it was refurbished in the early 1990s.

I remember when Tower Records opened with massive confident fanfare - this Noo Yoik megastore opening. 1984-2003 I think.

I still have some of the stuff that I purchased in the Piccadilly Tower Records, they had a few rarer Dead Kennedys 12" singles that I purchased. They also had loads of signing events by the pop stars of the day. I remember the place being rammed when 5-Star made an appearance. Tower never really expanded in the UK as we had Our Price and Virgin on most high streets back then.

Still there and much the same. Very nice old pub backing onto the Thames. It's at 57 Wapping Wall, London E1W 3SH.
